Yeah....apparantly you'll need book 1 to write a list. The first book in every "trilogy" will have the army lists in.

It means you can put more stuff in the book if theres not a army list in there. But it does kind of suck.I'm just gonna buy them all anyway

Well i've just been bored and worked out what I want based on rule of cool and without seeing any rules.

inlcuding Lorgar nad the Kor Phareon/Erebus pack that isn't out yet i came to £619. Not sure I can sneak that one past the wife too easily

And thats without any f the cool unique units or anything new they release...and involves repainting my current Contemptor and Relic Predator....

I will assume not, the only unique units mentioned are Terror Squads and Night Raptors.
It also mentions the Atramentar in Sev's rules, so I don't think they are in.

More or less what I did last year! Started on £13,200, currently on £24,136, and about to get a £2,500 pay rise in October.

Then another pay rise in June next year. Yik yik yik!

Thankfully, managed to reduce outgoings by £225 earlier in the year by swapping from the Train, to the Coach.

No one is making you do anything. I've bought both books and have no intention of ever playing with the army lists, they're beautiful books full of fluff and art, well worth the price.

Forge World have said you will need book one in order to use book two, so I would guess no complete army list.

Yep, they said so at the FW Open Days. only book 1, 4 , 7 will contain the full army lists. The new books will feature more unique stuff for each legion

Right, each trilogy, not each book, oops. Totally worth it though, I'm over Marine vs Marine stuff by and large but the production values on Betrayal was exemplary. Worth every penny.

Yes your right, Typhon. Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble keeping up with all these cool models. Between GW and FW I have lost count of the releases we have had in the last 12 months.

I'm consistently impressed with every new thing they come out. I personally think that the old Legion vehicles are the weakest point of the Heresy, since they look too... round in places, and that makes them look a little derpy to me, but every infantry model that they've come out with has been beautiful.

I think one of the nice things about this is that if you can at least front for the books, you can treat the Horus Heresy as a modified version of Apocalypse or 40k (if you remove the Gods of War) and use your own Space Marine models in place of all that FW resin.

Of course, 9 books at nearly 140 dollars a piece to make sure you can play any part of the Horus Heresy, or at least play the armies and units that you really want, will be quite the premium to pay for a different version of 40k that only features Space Marines...
