View Full Version : Forgeworld Characters and the new Space Marine Codex
So having got my new Space Marine codex and the edition of chapter tactics army wide it makes me wonder what will forgeworld do with all of their characters from the badab war, which for the most part had their characters change the army to their style, do you think they'll FAQ it to give certain ones their own chapter tactics? or do you think they'll say what chapters they've done take from the main book for tactics?
Just like to hear what you think will happen/ know anyone inside forgeworld...

I just want them to give the exorcists their own chapter tactics when they update them! :D

hoping my Minotaurs will get new combat tactics, preferred enemy seems a bit underwhelming now...

All I know is I still have the cheapest Chapter Master special character ever published. Go Raptors!

it is a tad annoying that after spending £50 to get the latest rules for my Minotaurs army 4 months ago, the chapter master rules i paid for, to use the model I also bought at the same time, no longer seem to work, as there are no combat tactics to replace!
I'm sure they'll sort something out soon, hopefully an FAQ!

The rules say he replaces Combat Tactics with Prefered Enemy (Space Marines), but Space Marine armies don't have combat tactics now, they have chapter tactics

Go with the logical extrapolation of that: Preferred Enemy (SM) is his Chapter Tactic, or Play using one of the Tactics in the new Dex. You still have a wicked looking model.

It is an amazing model, can't complain there! and although you say thats the logcial thing to do, and I wholeheartedly agree, you know there are some hideous WAAC creatures out there that would argue that as there are no combat tactics, i can't replace anything with preferred enemy

hey I just got an email from forgeworld saying that all the characters and army list will be receiving updated pdfs for free download, but it will take a few months to have them all up there. which makes sence seeing how much they have to update

Preferred enemy against the most common army in the game is really good. Preferred enemy is one of the best USRs in the game.

splitting hairs, whatever you call it, it is much less exciting than the new book traits.
I'd like to think they'll add a bit more than just one rule per army as that is a bit bland next to the others in the main book. I could see minotaurs getting P.E.(Space Marines) but also maybe getting a rule to represent their rich armoury/ abundance of new suits. Possibly a bunch of stuff about challenges as they're all meant to be greek heroes.
Exorcists could have P.E(Chaos Daemons) or something along those lines...
