So what do the formations of the Fall of Damnos look like in terms of rules? Not asking for exact wording, but at least the gist of what it does. Especially for the Necrons.

Thank you!

Necron formations are quite good, they include a modernisation of older formations (ghost strider phalanx, Lawbringer phalanx) and some newer ones, including a Canoptek swarm which arrives by deepstrike and can cause nearby buildings to collapse, the high court of damnos with the characters from the fall of damnos book and a flayed one court which can affect nearby warriors and flayed ones with rage and hatred. There is also a nightscythe detachment which can allow friendly models on the table to immediately deepstrike elsewhere, and a doomscythe and destroyer formations which can both essentially combine their shooting attacks into larger shooting attacks

The only minor gripe is that the pylon is now skyfire, but no interceptor, so it's a lot of points for not very much.

My question is, do the new Pylon rules override the rules FW just printed in IA:Apocalypse? Because that Pylon is 95 points cheaper, has Interceptor, doesn't have the Gauss or Arc rules for the Flux Arc, and just auto-corrects on deep striking instead of not scattering.

Or are they considered different units because the Damnos one is just a "Pylon", and the FW one is a "Gauss Pylon"? Because I can't think of any reason to take a "Pylon" when the "Gauss Pylon" is better in most ways.
