Black Legion

HQ- Daemon Prince
Wings, armor, lvl 3 tzeentch psyker, eye of night and last memory

10 cultists

5 man CSM w/ flamer and VotLW

3x Defilers

1 Heldrake w/ baleflamer

CSM Allies

Daemon prince
Wings, armor, level 3 psyker, tzeentch and burning brand

5 CSM w/meltagun
5 CSM w/meltagun

1 obliterator

Total is 1850 if I'm not mistaken.

My thoughts are sit back and blast battle cannons and eye of night until drake comes in and enemy is closing in, or troops in the open to start templating. Bring in My troops from reserve and just run for objectives :)

Hmmm, I haven't seen anyone use a Defiler at all in SOOOO long. That's pretty neat. While I tend to favor the Soul Grinder, that 72" range will really help out the Defilers, and they're not super squishy with a Daemon save and 4 hull points, though I'd like to see 2 on a Skyshield Landing Pad to help with invuls and LOS.

Of course CSM lists always seem weak on Troops, but if you keep them in Reserves like you said, they stand a sporting chance of taking and holding an objective....plus the Defilers can kinda guard them too (not a bad bodyguard :)

The Daemon Princes and Heldrake make a nice airforce. What's the Eye of Night and Last Memory do? I don't have the new supplement.

Overall that sounds almost balanced, though I wonder if cover saves vs your battle cannons will nerf your cross-field effectiveness.

No where near enough scoring. I'd drop the eye of night (its nice but with a pair of FMC you don't really need it). grab a spell familiar (you don't want the memory to kill him). Drop the oblit and really really try to bulk up your troops, either with more CSM or more cultists. Maybe even drop one of the defilers for more troops.

If you are outflanking, which is possible with regular Csm I can see this list doing ok. My Tau list would easily destroy that list, 13 seeker missiles, 3 rail guns from broadsides, hammer head rail gun, 16 strength 7 missiles, 6 strength 7 ap 1 or 2 large blast re roll pen strength 9 ap 2 blast. Yeah it's safe to say the 3 defilers won't be that hard to destroy.

Not saying the 200 point defiler sucks, seeing that half the listed weapons I have can go 72" away. I think it will do well against armies that lack range, mobility, and fire power.

You need more troops, umm only 1 oblit.

That being said I think the spell book would be a good piece of gear for one of princes which he can possily generate up to 10 powers.

I personally think using daemons a Tzeentch prince and 3 soul grinders would be much better. As a troop go nurgle or daemonettes or pink horrors.

Agreed Oblit needs to go. CSM is tough on troops :/

Eye of night is large blast, S4 AP5, ignores cover, unlimited range, target suffers D3 penetrating hits automatically. My goal would first turn lob 4 Large blasts ordinance/eye and try to wreck some long range platforms. I thought I had Spell Familiars added in there...I'll check again haha last thing I want is roast myself with a "last memory".

Defilers were my favorite in 5th Ed and I haven't used them since due to incredibly high points :/ So I want to go big with them haha :D

BTW sorry for the name change, some how last night posting this it used my facebook and not my regular log in...

drop the 5 man melta CSM, without transports they are kinda meh, grab two large cultist blobs that way.

Use the oblit points to buff your other CSM squad and grab it a pair of plasma guns.

I dig this. I can use guard as cultists right? I only have the dark vengeance cultists.
