Hiya.

So yeah, here's a taste of the sort of music I'm into. Enjoy! Or not. But mostly enjoy!

First up, a slice of some of Britain's very finest OI! Punk. Deirdre's a Slag, by Toy Dolls

Smash It Up, The Damned. Written by Algie, who I know and have played Trivial Pursuits with. This was latterly covered by The Offspring (some from them later) and used on one of the Schuamcher Batman films. Suffice to say, Algie is not short of a bob or two!

Moving out from the Punk scene now, and into some high quality Metal. From their third album Number of the Beast, it's Iron Maiden with 'The Prisoner'. This is an awesome album, a genuine classic. If you're not sure if Metal is your bag, give this a listen in it's entirety, and you'll know for sure!

Next up, Tenpole Tudor, with the song that always make me want to found an Empire army for Fantasy, Swords of a Thousand Men

So far, so metal/punk/new wave. So I think it's time for one you might recognise if you've seen Napoleon Dynamite. It's the Penguin Cafe Orchestra, with Music for a Found Harmonium. First heard this as a nipper, as Dad had the album. Really good bit of music!

SAY CHEESE!!!! Sigue Sigue Sputnik, with a single released via Stock, Aitken and Waterman, Success. Pretty much the 80's squidged into one song.

And hurtling into the 90's for a moment, a not terribly well know band (not a hipster thing!), Belly, with Seal My Fate. Love her vocals.

Next up, one of my favourite bands, The Wedding Present. They were pretty popular in their day, but given their distinct Indie stylings, I fear they may have hit slightly too early, as they missed out on the Britpop era, which they could have ruled!

More Iron Maiden now! Fallen Angel, which came on my Iphone at the same time I was reading Fear To Tread. Just as Sanguinius goes after the bad guys, with his arse in his hands!

I mentioned The Offspring earlier, and here they are, with The Kids Aren't Alright. Bit of a personal one for me, as it was released around the same time pretty much my entire social group decided to screw their lives up. Some went to drugs, others became teen parents. Think I'm about the only person from that scene to have gone on to actually do anything.
