GW releases their most expensive product ever: 10.000€ one-click-deal (this is not a joke).

Also:

- new 165€ strike force will replace battle force.
- new Reclusiarch command squad with NEW plastic reclusiarch model only available as a set (comes with razorback)
- new color sprays (or rather they are back again),

if its a space marine chapter i wonder what it will include, even if you add all the Apocalypse formations up its only a bit over $7,000 so they would have to be including a full armory of vehicles and perhaps a thunderhawk

I don't understand how that could possibly be a thing. Like I can understand how someone might throw 10k at miniatures in one go, some people have a lot of money like that certainly, I just don't understand how such a miniscule subset of consumers would warrant an actual catalog item. If you wanted to buy a whole chapter wouldn't you just buy everything piece by piece? I mean hell, you're going to be painting 1000 space marines, I'd hope you'd have at least enough time to pick out the kits yourself.

I can't. Most of them don't ship their shebang to Asia. But seriously, I don't like piling up models. It's like a toilet sheet of to-do list. Modeling to finish the list is not fun.

I can promise you that throwing 1k at it to have the army professionally painted, wouldn't even cover 5-10% of it. You would be looking at something close to the cost of the miniatures or double for professionally painted kit as a starting point. Take this from someone who has 60k of Eldar spread across four (4) different commissioned artist studios at present in various countries.

this isn't e first time they've done this. they had. a $6000 deal back in the late 90's for a full chapter with thinderhawk, so i dont see why they wont do it again. you,d have to be mad to buy it though....

A DA Green wing battle company can be built in about 2500. Considering heavy weapons, vehicles, command stuff, and some specialized companies, 60000 should be a decent number.

Have you noticed the colour sprays in the pricelist. It seems that we will be soon be able to undercoat with Mephiston-red, Calthan Green, Maggrage blue and the Fang colours. My SW will be very happy with that last one ...

I think it's a gimmick, it's going to cost them hardly anything if anything but it will generate a lot of attention. Some people will mock but a lot more will be going 'Wow, wish I could afford that'

Though €10k seems an awfully round number for a company that works in £...

I'd assume it has full vehicle support...

In addition to the companies that pic also has 3 of each armoury tank, 3 land speeders, 10 land raiders, and 3 techs+cannons in addition to two thunderhawks. But that was then

Now I assume it would be all your battle companies as normal, the assualt company, termie company and jump company then the reserves one of which is all devastator, so to start thats 1000 little dudes not counting the apothecarion/lirbarius/and chaplaincy which could add another 10 a piece in addition to another 5 for the Company Master and Staff. Then theres max of 9 razors/rhinos per battle company, 36 total, as the reserves assaults and 1st wont need em but theyll have as many as five land raiders, one more raider for your Chapter Master maaayyybbe. Will a scout company be given LSPD Storms? Will it include three Stormtalons and/or One Stormraven? (Something I see as more likely than a thunderhawk)

my guess:

Infantry: 850 dude dudes, 100 scouts, 50 termies, about 30 to 50 Specialty un-company assinged personel + thunderfires for techs etc...

Vehicles: max of 6 Raiders, 31 Rhinos, 5 Razorbacks, 3 Vindicators, 3 Predators, 3 Whirlwinds, 3 Hunter/Stalkers, 3 Land Speeders maybe (3 LS Storms?), 15-20 dreadnoughts (every company has at least two even reserves, some have more). hard to say how theyde divy up bikes but I'da say a fair concept would be to allow 8x10 man+attack bike squads to be subbed for the one or more of the 10 man assualt squads in battle companies. 3 Stormtalons, and 2 Stormravens and that about looks like thatd do it. Hopefully youde get all the finecast goodies to, company masters etc, maybe even a full compliment of all of the heroes so you could govern as you please but thats pipe dreaming

Snag you a copy of the 5th edition SM codex, it has a great run down of the Ultra Marines chapter counting in the losses of each squad at the time. Has alot more then 3 Land speeders.

I was just looking at the old picture for those parts.
I've read it and thought about the math more: 10k in euro is about 13k+ in us dollars. each company is about 1000 bucks each, clearly the scout company and the assault are incredibly cheaper as they dont have any vehicles in their Kit giving you some vehicle wiggle room there (500 and 800 bucks), maybe they could fit armoury costs into the extra three thousand bucks on top of chapter costs themselves, itd be 1500 in predators 1000 in ordnance vindi/whirl and about 900 in Raiders, leaving you only a few hundred to a thousand bucks for all the rest of the chapter, Chapter HQ: bikes, Speeders, Techmarines, etc. are they going to cut into the fluff or into the profit? Is the european release going to get a better/worse break due to shipping? (the thing will be massive as all hell)

ultimately this is all wild conjecture about something Ill never buy, just real bored today

i can not +1 this comment enough....it took me 15 years to stop prebuying....finish painting what you have then buy more...i find now i get more done, because the over whelming pile of plastic NEVER gets painted...now one unit at a time thats my motto ( and its painted to a higher standerd )

also you are mistaken about the price its 10,000 euro's in dollars its around $13,000

making the inflation adjusted price of the kit %44 more expensive


i don't mean this to offend thinking about inflation is a good idea but i'm an economist so i can get a bit anal about such things.

it was for 3rd ed stuff, so i don,t know if any of the current plastics were in it, but i think the land raider was (it was as late as 2001 that it was up on gw,s site). they sold a couple, and i've seen pics of one finished. almost cashed out my AOL stock to do it.. i should have because it would be more valuable than the stock is now.
