I am planning on including an allied WH Inquisitor with my Imperial Guard and was wondering if any of the psychic powers were worth it. Thoughts?

The unlimited range psychic hood sounds like a better deal than the powers. Though sadly the witch hunter one can't take the minion that lets you shoot deep strikers. Those are basically evil. Including some sisters might be cool, not sure how effective it would be, they seem to work better with many sisters and add in some guard, not the other way around.

Adding a malleus inquisitor would be cool, and I am actually thinking about it now, as psychic/deepstrike defense. Damn shouldn't have traded those inquisition models away.

The Witch Hunters have, when combined with IG, super powerful psychic powers.

Use the Psyker Battle Squad to drop a unit to LD 2.

Then use Divine Pronouncement to force the unit to run off the board.

Drop a Callidus next to an expensive, fleeing HQ unit to escort them off the board each turn....

Pretty nasty things you can do with both books together.

Overall, a better choice than Deamon Hunters as far as psychic powers go when combined with IG.

The short answer is no. Don't use psychic powers on an allied Inquisitor.

I've been using Inquisitors for years and I can't find a reliable psychic power build. But if you post your Inquisitorial unit, I'd be happy to give you some feedback on it.

Give the example I posted a try.... :)

So evil.....

Along those lines, I'll point out that BuFFo's solution can work where other Weaken Resolve combos won't. I typically run a small unit of nob bikers, and even at Ld2 it can be hard to force a Morale check on that unit in an economical fashion. A six-model squad still has to lose two whole models before it will run, even at Ld2, and killing two nob bikers is not always easy. I had one memorable game against an IG opponent where my nob biker unit spent the entire game advancing into range and then getting run off by Weaken Resolve - but my opponent spent so much firepower to do it that the nob bikers were doing their job anyway. Divine Pronouncement sidesteps the need to score any wounds at all. Even if you can't escort the fleeing unit off the board, it's still a cheap buffer.

Okay, here's the Inquisitor

Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor w/boltpistol, PW
Vet Guardsman w/flamer
Crusader
Chirurgeon

68 points

I was also thinking of adding an Acolyte and/or Familiar but would like to keep costs down. Is the Chirurgeon worth it?
