I'm as surprised as anyone (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440008a&prodId=prod2160106a):

£50 for £70 worth of scenery.

It's a really good deal for some nice terrain. Hoping this is the first of many!

for direct from gw, good price, but you can still pick it up for less on ebay. and to be honest, the quality on these , while good, isn,t as good as their regular kits, as they farm these out to china

Whilst I agree it isn't fantastic value, GW giving money off is a massive thing and we should be shouting the fact from the rooftops. Do you have any evidence that these are manufactured in china Lobster? They don't have a plant out there and as far as I know they don't outsource anything.

I like them a lot personally, good for chopping up to make into different pieces as you really only need one of each. They can also be combined in different ways.

There's plenty of great 40k terrain that can be made from these, too. It's not like Warhammer has a monopoly on vortices of arcane destruction or eldritch ruins, after all.

A mate has turned the big flaming thing into a disc of zeentch for his herald and it looks proper boss.

I suppose the throne would work sliced off the skulls.

You won't need to slice it off Splodgey as the tops of the 4 Storm of Magic terrain pieces are interchangeable.

i've owned each of them and have worked at stores selling them. they say right on the package "made in china." the main game models are all made in uk, usa and au, but the terrain is all farmed out to china these days.

FAir enough then. I'm surprised at that, but there you go. I'll have a look next time in store.

I'm tempted by this but already have the bottom two storm of magic pieces and there are loads of new lizards currently on my buy list also.
