I get the feeling the enemy might just blast away your Troops then hunker down and win on objectives. If you can hide them well enough and pull attention from them with your very scary other stuff, you could keep them going. Also you'll be putting serious pain on all of their troops with all of that firepower.

I would give it a shot, how well it works might depend heavily on the composition of the opposing force, but try it out and see. Some will have no choice but to focus on your big scary things, some will be able to focus on your troops and take the hits from the big guys.
