As topic , i cant really find a good online store that stocks full ranges for terrains of the following list (reasons such as over priced exchange rate and ridiculous shipping or just too hard to find , or their own site doesn't really work lol)

While you guys help me out with store that stock these , it would also be nice for this thread to help others for where to get good terrain XD cheers (i can update this first post with links you guys give and hopefully it can help others too)

1) ziterdes http://www.ziterdes.de/ziterdes/en/index.php?we_variant=en (Personally i think its a bit over priced , plus the shopping system is poor , hint : try dragging a picture to the chest and before that turn the volume on your computer on very high XD)

2) pegasushobbies http://www.pegasushobbies.com/gm_main.htm (They dont even sell their own stuff online , and not to mention no mentioning of the awesome gothic range lol wt...)

3) quantum gothic http://www.quantumgothic.co.uk/ (Good site , but just looking for alternatives , and i dont really like resin unless thier very hard to break)

4)Armorcast http://armorcast.com/store/index.php?cPath=115_39 (Good site , but i personally don't like some of the product designs , for me its a bit cartoony , and also the purchasing system doesn't work for me )

B ) Some good factors i would consider a online store to be good :

1) Stocks the big company stuff (as listed above etc) or has their own products

2) actually has pictures and product description for the products (hate it when i dont see or read what i am buying, and even if copying from the manufactures isnt that hard)

3) Can pay with paypal (and i dont mean ONLY with debit / credit card , but also E "checks" )

4) good customer feedback (it works better to have thier own forum or a thread on other forums (like war seer) and they have a good reputation for correcting thier own mistakes)

5) has different currency converters making the customers day easier around the globe

6) Prices and shipping arent ridiculous high

I think the warstore stocks a lot of terrain. You might want to check them out.

Check out www.war-zone.com

I haven't actually ordered from them yet but I'm planning to soon. Their stuff looks pretty good and seems reasonably priced.

The stuff is good , but the requirement for international buyers is tough as nails ><............. http://www.war-zone.com/intel/overseas.html

My friend makes and sells various types of terrain, his eBay store - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/War-Games-Tournaments

The industrial set that he does has a review on http://gravengames.co.uk/industrial-terrain-set-review/ and also got a mention on the BoLs frontpage in the summary of what was noteworthy at Salute.

He adds more designs all the time, and will do custom stuff too, and I've also been doing various designs for some other 40k Xenos stuff while I've been away at work to give to him when I'm home.

That ebay link tom is something I have been looking at for a long time, I think it looks brilliant.

my only real experience with buying online terrain has been from armorcast and it was fine, their stuff is definetly way more eavy metal than grimdark though for certain but not suprising given some of those casts have been around since 3rd edition (yikes!)

Yeah, it's good stuff. The industrial set is a decent thickness of MDF so it is sturdy, but can also be left dry fitted between the legs / platforms so you can rearrange it into different builds. The central holes in the hexagonal towers are exactly Pringle tube diameter so you can add more LoS blocking stuff to it quite cheaply. From that point of view it works nicely as something to have that can be made different game to game, but I also like the idea of using it to make something more 'fixed' out of it so that it ends up more representative of a real building... I was thinking about seeing if super-soaker bottles, sprayed up copper coloured, would fit down through those same holes and having it as some sort of huge underhive moonshine still.

We had a game on the city fight stuff too. Which is another good kit - it's not cheap, but it will fill a 6ft x 4ft table in one go without really needing anything more. You can also change the road layouts and move buildings around, or even then just grab a few other tiles to make whatever else you want to slot into it.

My favourite is this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wargames-Warhammer-40K-Apocalypse-Scenery-Terrain-City-Fight-Table-Kit-/390827555988?pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item5aff233c94

I like how modular it looks and that it completely covers a board.

Yep, that's the one. It's made up of a load of tiles, so you can change the road layout, re-arrange the buildings, or even decide that you want other things instead for which you'd just need to get other blank tiles and put whatever you wanted onto them. He's done some intact buildings now too. 9009

That is HUGE!

I think it would take like 9 turns to climb from the ground to the roof...

How often is 40k played on the level or a couple of hills? What I like about these is that it enables height to come into it.

I haven't seen these 'in the flesh' so to speak, but what I can foresee liking about them is the potential for it to make a multi-level board where lines of sight are all sorts of messed up. You might think that a heavy weapons team up top would be great, with some hugely overpowering field of vision, but chances are that the steep angles and other buildings in the way will mean there are all sorts of places to hide. But, like you say it's going to take too long to get guys along the ground and up the floors to get to them, so jump/jet troops start having a real niche role on a board like that jumping from roof top to roof top, with a whole different battle raging in the streets.

On the other hand, it might just be too big and have terrible LoS issues and make any guys on top of it useless. But I'm interested to find out. :D

Could always make special rules for a lift.

Terrain Type: Lift

Transport Capacity: 20

The lift may move upto 5 floors per turn. For each turn a unit ends it's turn in the lift it must roll a D6 on the Dangerous Lift Test.

Dangerous Lift Test.

1 - Lift becomes stuck on the current floor. Unit may disembark onto the current level but may not use the lift again.
2-5 - No effect
6 - Plummet! The lift plummets from the current level to the floor, each model embarked suffers a S (lift level / 2, rounding down) hit AP-. The lift may not be used again.

The lift my be repaired by a model with a repair skill, e.g. Techmarine, Techpriest etc.

I recently bought this exact set.
I cannot stress how good it is.
Also, you can turn the 2' x 2' bases over and do a desert or grass board. Which I intend to do.
