1) Pinning forces squads to "Go To Ground"

2) "Go To Ground" reads that units take Morale checks as normal.

3) Losing 25% of a squad forces a Morale check

4) C:SM "Combat Tactics" allows a unit to choose to fail a Morale Check and Fall Back

5) C:SM "And They Shall Know No Fear" allows a unit that is Falling Back to automatically regroup (if further than 6 inches from an enemy)

EXAMPLE:

Enemy shooting
SM unit loses 1 man to a Sniper Weapon, fails it's Leadership check and is Pinned.
The SM unit goes to ground.
The SM unit loses two more models to fire.
At the end of the enemy shooting phase, the SM unit must make a Morale check for losing 25% of it's models.
The SM unit chooses to fail the test.
The SM unit Falls Back 2d6

Start of SM Movement Phase
The SM unit is is further than 6" from an enemy units.
ATSKNF allows the SM unit to auto-regroup and proceed as normal

Is this a question or a statement?

haha, It's a statement; but I've had people dispute that this is actually how it works. Usually, they can't quote any specific rule, or they talk about how it worked in 4rth Ed.

My question should be:

Does any one have a reason why this is not possible?

If they do, they have the rules wrong.

I am not up to par with the rules, but everything here is perfectly fine except...

Doesn't a marine unit auto regroup immediately after it falls back, like in the previous codex, or has it changed to now doing it in the next turn as normal?

Marines regroup at the same time as any other unit (the start of their turn,) they just don't have to roll to do so and may fire Heavy Weapons as normal instead of counting as moved.

If they regrouped immediately after the Fall Back then you wouldn't be able to chase them off the board by keeping a unit with in 6" as it Falls Back. That would be nice, but not really the rules. :)

After fall back was a previous edition rule.
