We are going to use our Great Gargant "Orkasmatron" for the first time in a game of Apocalypse next weekend at Victory Games in Sheboygan, WI. I was holding out hope that Apocalypse 2.0 would have rules for Gargants great and small, especially with the inclusion of Warzone:Armageddon. No such luck, so it looks like well just have to make some stuff up, well 'Ere We Go.

The Lords of Battle rules for Great Gargants look like a good place to start. They should be pretty easy to convert to work in Apocalypse 2.0 for the Lifta Dropa and the Super Shooty Def Kannon. We do have a rather large rack of 8 missiles that I'm thinking of using the rules from the Vortex Missile Aquila Strongpoint for. In addition I thought the other shoulder mount weapon could count as a Gatling Blaster from the Reaver Battle Titan. There is also 23 Big Shootas, 10 Flamers, 3 Whirlwind Missile Launchers, 3 Hunter Killers and a Leman Russ turret.

The one thing we don't have is rules for the band, Da Gof Rockerz. I was thinking we could roll a die at the beginning of each turn, consult Da Set List to determine the song the band is playing and then apply the effect.

Da Set List

D6 Effect
1 Ere We Go: (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/16970716-ere-we-go) Any charge made by a friendly Ork unit this turn is doubled.
2 Da Red Button: (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/16970678-da-red-button) All Ork Vehicles gain +1 movement this turn.
3 Die Ooomie Scum: (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/16970666-die-oomie-scum) All Orks gain Hatred (Imperium) for this turn.
4 Fight, Fight, Fight: (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/16970656-fight-fight-fight) All Ork units have Rage this turn.
5 More Dakka: (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/16970639-more-dakka) All Ork Infantry are twin-linked this turn.
6 Annuver Go: (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/16970427-annuver-go) X units of Boyz may be returned to play after each scheduled break where X equals the number of times Annuver Go has been played.

I like them all, but in traditional Ork fashion... there should be a random roll that isn't quite so good for the Orks. Like "Don't push dat"

Maybe fight fight fight could turn the orks into a mosh pit so all units with 6 cannot act? And if you roll the same song twice in a roll the crowd get restless and throw cans on stage, so every unit within 12 inches cannot act as they are too busy abusing the band?

You could make it 2d6 with a 12 being the garguant fires twice to symbol the crescendo of the gig?

Those are some good ideas. Maybe an animosity style effect for Fight, Fight, Fight (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/16970656-fight-fight-fight)? Orks moshing so hard they knock a few of there fellow boyz out, it's a good visual.

Ere we go sounds a little OP to me,so i suggest as 1 is the traditional mishap maybe change it to.

DA FUNK
The Gargant can hold back no longer,It gets his funk on to the sound of the music.
All units within 2D6 talke a St5 AP- hit.

I agree, it does sound a bit over-powered. I'm not an ork player, but I am forwarding this to my friend who is. THIS IS SERIOUSLY ****ING BADASS!

Suggestions for making it better. Feel free to fold, spindle and mutilate or roundfile.

7: Sound check: Nothing happens as the band takes an intermission
8: Smoke on the water! A str 4/ ap 5 flare accidentally fires, hitting some orks. But the good news is that all things within 6" of the gargant, execept the gargant itself, giving 5+ cover to those nearby. Distance doubles if near water features.

9: Crazy Train! Gargant makes sudden stompa attacks on nearby units, then runs 2d6" in a random direction.
11: 11 is better than 10! Orks units can fire a single additional weapon after moving, even heavy weapons, unless they are one-use-only.
12: Band leaves early--ork leadership down by -3 across the board, only charges half distance as everyone stops to see why the music stopped. [or they could hurt themselves in a riot, something like the old fearless wounds via leadership check as the bosses and nobs try to stop angry moshers.]

Going to make one modification for sure to Da Set List:

Fight, Fight, Fight: (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/16970656-fight-fight-fight) All Ork units have Rage this turn. Any Ork unit that doesn't make it into combat this turn suffers a single wound as they fight amongst themselves.

Also been considering the lack of any Orky mayhem and I have one idea I want to try out in the game tomorrow. Considering both EPs are six songs long I want to keep Da Set List and Da Uvver Set List (more on that in a second) to a D6 roll. So I'm thinking anytime a song comes up that has already been played this game we'd roll on the "Encore" chart.

Encore

D6 Effect
1-2 By Request: Da Boss wants to here that one again. The song is played as normal
3 Drum Solo: Morgob Badgof goes off on a noisy tangent. Da Boyz play no song this turn.
4 Pull Da Plug: A grot roadie manages to kill the power for the band. Da Boyz play no song this turn as the other grot roadies get the band back on. In addition roll a check for every Ork unit on the board. Any unit that rolls a 1 suffers a single wound as they fight amongst themselves, upset by the lack of tunes.
5 Feedback: Every unit within 3d6" of the band takes D6 Str 5 hits from the killa noise. Da Boyz play no song this turn.
6 Da Show is Over: Da Boyz got word that they weren't getting all da Teef they was promised and exit the stage. The rest of the boyz riot. Each unit rolls 2d6 and subtracts the total from the number of models left in it (a Unit that has a Nob with a Boss Pole may remove one model to prevent this roll) The unit takes that many hits equal to the units strength against itself.

As for Da Uvver list I wanted this to be a special list that can only be used if Ghazghkull is in the army. Orkasmatron is Da Gof Rockerz second EP and almost every song is either about Ghazghkull or at least mentions him. This one I'm still trying to work out and don't plan on using it tomorrow. Here are the songs and a few rough ideas:

Da Uvver Set List

D6 Effect
1 Disciples of Da Waagh!: (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/18080337-disciples-of-da-waaagh) The Unit that contained Ghazghkull and those within 12" would get some kind of bonus.
2 Da Mob Rule: (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/17955463-da-mob-rule) To just get a free Waaagh! seems kind of weak. Maybe use the old mob up rules?
3 Zoggin' Hostile: (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/18034544-zoggin-hostile) Rage seems appropriate, but I don't want to repeat from the set list. Something with combat for sure.
4 Ghazghkull is a Gof Rocker: (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/18003797-ghazghkull-is-a-gof-rocker) Something that boosts Ghazghkull.
5 Da Four Mekaniaks: (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/17740295-da-four-mekaniaks) Repair D3 Power Fields. That or fix vehicles?
6 Orkasmatron: (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/17631654-orkasmatron) This might have to be were Orkasmatron goes on a stomping spree. That or all of his weapons get twin linked. Or both.

Thanks for all the ideas so far, any ideas for Da Uver Set list would be greatly appreciated.

Well Da Gof Rockerz (https://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz) didn't even get to take the stage this past weekend. The other side got the first turn and put everything they had into Orkasmatron (http://www.reverbnation.com/dagofrockerz/song/17631654-orkasmatron), taking him out before he fired a single shot. Guess that is to be expected in a 20K+ per side Apocalypse game when everybody knew the Great Gargant was coming and they had a Phantom Titan on there side.

Next up will be a Tyranid vs. Ork Apocalypse game, hopefully this time Da Boyz get to play.
