Hi.

I am considering an Imperial Guard allied force to support my Black Templars.
I am wondering, can Techpriest Enginseers repair Space Marine vehicles?
Or for that matter, can Techmarines repair Imperial Guard vehicles?

Cheers.

So long as the alliance is Battle Brother (so you can move the 2 models within 1" of each other) I can't see any problem with that.
The Techie only has to be in base contact with the "friendly" vehicle.
The Updates aven't changed it to be Codex specific.

Right, it only works with Battle Brothers. Not only are Allies enemy models so you can't move within 1", but special rules can't directly carry over to allies.

Yeah, I thought as much. ;)

I am considering a couple of Techpriest Enginseers as they don't consume an FOC slot and they are just dedicated to repairing vehicles. I this case I don't think I'll bother with any servitors.
Two Techpriest Enginseers come in 90pts > the Black Templars Techmarine at 70pts before upgrades.
I guess the benefit there is the ability to cover more ground.
Better still, if I don't need two I can leave one at home and the cost drops to only 45pts.

Thoughts anybody?

BRB FAQ
Q: Can models from an Allied Detachment that have the ability to
repair Hull Points or Immobilised/Weapon Destroyed results from
the Vehicle Damage Table use this ability on Allied vehicles? (p112)
A: No.

Nope, it doesn't work.

Hmm… ok. I thought there might be a chance it was off limits.
The Rule Book FAQ you say?
I had checked the SM and IG FAQs but found nothing.
Thanks for that.

Looks like it's one of those situations where it would have been better not to ask the question "officially" !
Seems odd but that's what the FAQ says so no choice.

Kinda makes you wonder why they bothered with Allies rules at all.

Very few similar aura's and rules work across allies, in fact its only as the books get updated to 6th that such things MAY do so.

That is kinda the point, it seems with every rules set or update that comes out the level of interaction you can have between allied units gets less and less.

What about Ministratum Priests though?
Can I give them evicerators and stick them in my Crusader Squads or won't that work?

Nope. Sounds like you need to do some Update downloading mate.

Page 35 – Ministorum Priests, Righteous Fury.
Change the first sentence to read “A Priest and any unit chosen
from Codex: Imperial Guard that he has joined re-roll any failed
To Hit rolls in close combat on the turn in which they charge.”

Hmm…
Oh well, not essential.

Cheers.
