Well I took this list to a local Tourney and it did fair quite well... except for one game.

The Armies I went up against were:

Chaos / Daemons - Relic/Scouring - Hammer and Anvil - Rolled First Turn - W
Purifier Spam - Big Guns/Emperors Will - Vanguard - Rolled Second Turn - L
Monster Nids - Kill Points/Objectives - Dawn of war - Rolled First Turn - W

I fared very well the first game though he was playing with a LOT of AT - specifically 2 Blastmasters, 3 Las Preds, and 9 Screamers - Coversaves won me the match
The Second game was over before I went... He deployed aggressively and I lots 4 out of 5 tanks before I could move - This was an odd match and I think it can play differently given the chance, we are going to try a rematch sometime in the future and see how it plays out.
The Third game played out much closer than I was expecting - The HTs died relatively quickly as did the Tervagons by T3 but the 3 Dakka Fexes got too close and started glancing out my tanks. But I was able to pull a win by forcing LD checks on guants to knock them off objectives.

I was impressed with how the list felt, though I may drop the wraithguard for something else... they are a great deterrent, unfortunately, they can be ignored. So I might just swap them out for another DA/Serpent and upgrade a second serpent to have SL/Cannon and take 3 Shadowweavers instead.

Are you from Texas? I think I saw a similiar list and it was debated rather or not you can join your riptide and it was ruledno you couldn't.

Why wouldnt anyone be allowed to join a Riptide? Its a (potentially) Multi Model Unit, same as a Tyranid Prime can join a Unit of 1 Carnifex etc.

Yes I am, and this came up at Fat Ogre's Tourney. And it was clarified later that I was able and allowed to join ICs to a Riptide.

I remembered that. The judge was trying to say that it was illegal. Even when you and another player explained why you can do so. It's not 5th anymore gosh.

How did you do overall in points. I was 10, 4, 7. I would had been 10, 7, 7 me and my opponent thought heavy can capture the emperoers will part. He cam back like 10 min later and argued it was a tie which caused me to loose points. I should had won same thing happen last time I played that guy. Although I was doing well against his army this time. Sadly if my last two games had more time I would had done better.

Funny I thought you had more tau in that list. Did he let you play with the joined unit. I don't recall that he did.

I was also wondering why they did so many random giveaways. Why not have a second or third place for wins, paint, or sportmanship since they could had done so. Who wants to see people who lost every game get a prize.

Funny that I said the same thing. Gosh I hate my phone. I type better on a keyboard.

I wish I seen you play, so I can even begin to give advice.

The only player I know you fought was the chaos guy. The problem is I havn't faced that army he played before. However I played against his serpent spam list and can say I totally wrecked it. If you have enough anti-tank you can still glance death the armour 12 serpents. It's even worst when you are denying cover saves as well.

I think the deathspinner is a nice add for the list. For some reason I would had liked to see the fire warriors in a devilfish in a list like that.

I am thinking of going Tau/ Eldar, but thinking of Tau as the primary and fielding a WraithKnight for the added strength 10 shots of death. I am toying with the ideal to keep my hammerhead or not.

Do you stay around Fat Ogre or you stay near Asgard. I need to get more play time with better gamers. I am lossing or tying in the tournaments due to little stuff, like I would had won the second game for example instead of tying. Since I could had a squad of fire warriors or kroot sat on the objective. Also little nick picking stuff eventually effected the way I played. The game stopped like every 5 min or calling a judge.

I let stuff slide unless it's game changing so I don't eat up time.

I was gonna do the same thing you did, by adding 2 missile drones to my riptide. I simply didn't cause of the arguments and game delay it actually causes.

I also trying to figure out how you did so badly against the Grey Knight player even if he went first. The 2nd game was basically corners and you shoul had easily been able to deploy outside most his weapons. You can easily get cover saves from your riptide as well. The Necoron player fielded half his army off the board and hugged the corner. It didn't matter since I have 10 weapons that can fire at 72" range and he couldn't shoot back. Learned from my last game to add more ranged fire power.

TBH, it was an ideal situation for him as he was playing 6 Razorbacks with 6 guys a la 2 psycannons in each, and 2 Psydreds... the terrain was sparse on my side and he deployed all up on the front of his deployment. So, he was able to move 6" with his razorbacks and an additional 6 with his psycannons with each of his squads save one. So he shot, 20 Str7, 18 TL-Str6, and 8 TL-Str8 shots at me before I could get any defences up... I did have the option to deploy farther back but, I would have been pinned up against the wall and with the castle in the middle of the board, he could have advanced up out of LOS of everything, then second turn drop everything in my deployment and set himself up for the charge third turn. As to my Riptide, it lived the entire game and was killing things left and right... but only one thing a turn. In hindsight I should have reserved as many as I could but I'm still getting used to that being effective again.

I was curious about the situation. Not saying it's an easy army to beat, but unless you are playing dawn of war he's at a disadvatage.

The terrain was very annoying. What's up with dem walls. Lucky I have 20 shots that don't need line of sight any way, and the wall was great for jsj as well.
