I've spent last couple of weeks building my own terrain, instead of building terrain for others... and I ended up with an Ork camp in an alien blue world...

Hope you guys enjoy the pictures

I asked elsewhere about the footprint of the Imperial bastion... I'm building my own orky version and this is the WIP of one of the automated Heavy Bolters...

I'm planning to build full Planetstrike ork terrain in time... and that prompts my next questions... any clues on how long a defence line is and the size of a landing pad?

Thanks.

what did you use for the corrugated metal? and are the ork glyphs plasticard or from a kit?

Everything is plasticard... the corrugated metal, the glyphs, walls, floors, beams and supports. The only kit parts are the 'wood' ones that I had around from an ork chariot.

I loved plasticard and I'm guessing it will last longer than cardboard.

two thumbs up. simple, but useable and isn't a random manufactorium in a field.

had you thought about adding mushrooms, toadstools and the like to make it lived in and add a bit more colour? A little fragile if you're gaming with it though.

And the landing pad is 300mm across.

That is some awesome terrain! I really like the colors and the excellent paintjobs.

Thanks!

The landing pad is big... I'm guessing the walls can go up and down... that might be tricky...

I had this idea of a warboss grabbing the ork fighta bommer pilot and yelling at him 'thiz iz tha thirrd time you blast my kamp, have red zymbolz on orkz buildings now, if you bomb da orkz again I will kut your legs and throw you in tha squig pit' :P

That size was walls up (I haven't attached mine). I actually wanted to convert it to use a power field instead of the wall - something with railway lamps or something like. That sort of thing would work well with orks, something with lots of electrical gubbins and lighting to protect the fightaz.

in my country, there is a saying for this: Very Nice!

That's a great idea! Now I have a clearer picture of what I want with a 'control' tower and a funky power field generator :D

This is awesome Andres!

Can't wait to see the bastion. Gonna be cool.
You should put a little sign next to the front door that says:
"No umies aloud!"
or
"Umies staiy out"

or something to that effect.

Now the bastion looks a lot more like a fortress...

...and a look at the table, with trees, rock formations, ork camp, the WIP Bastion and the ork landing pad project.

I have this idea of building a second ork bastion... with tracks.
