Games Workshop Apocalypse Formations (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/listProducts.jsp?catId=cat1080006a)

I'm thinking that page is probably every formation in the book. These are some of my favorites:

Eldar Wraithknight Dreamwalker Squad (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1080006a&prodId=prod2090078a&rootCatGameStyle=)

Dark Eldar Carnival of Pain (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1080006a&prodId=prod2090082a&rootCatGameStyle=)

Grey Knight Extermination Force (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1080006a&prodId=prod2090032a&rootCatGameStyle=)

Necron Baleful Necropolis (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1080006a&prodId=prod2090102a&rootCatGameStyle=)

Space Wolves Wolfpack Flanking Squad (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1080006a&prodId=prod2090022a&rootCatGameStyle=)

Last time, there was a good cost savings for the Apocalypse bundles. This time it's the same price as buying them separately, down to the penny.

I'm excited to see the return of the Endless swarm, hopefully with the same "recycling" rules. The lack of savings is a bit of a bummer, but I can live with it.

I find the Armageddon formations to be the coolest thing though, mainly because it seems that the Apoc book will focus on the second or third war for Armageddon. :D :D

Sisters of who?

The ones that the Grey Knights sacrificed... Now that would be a funny apoc formation to see... 1+ Grey knight units and 1+ Sisters models, at the beginning of each GK's player turn, a sisters model can be sacrificed (1:1 / sisters:GK) and the GK gains, 2+ poisoned, rage, 2+ invul, etc... till the GK's next turn.

Nothing is too good for the Sisters of Battle, so nothing is what they get.

Interesting note there's no black Templar specific formations yet all the other chapters with seperate codex's got formations, the only Templar style ones are found in the Armageddon section.

I just looked at all the Apoc formations... and I must say I didn't find anything really inspiring. If those are really the only formations in the Apoc book I'm a little bit disappointed.

I really like the Dark Olympiad.

There are 79 formations on that list, I'm sure there were 100 or more said to be in the book.

APOCALYPSE FORMATIONS: Details of more than 100 devastating formations that feature the most powerful military assets of the 41st Millennium. With 11 distinct classes of formation, you can take your choice from the C'tan-powered Tesseract Vault to an entire Battle Company of Space Marines! For added convenience, these formations are available to purchase as 1-click formations.

I'd like to take my Wych Cult list up against a Baleful Necropolis. Haywire grenades for all! Hm I should paint more wyches for an Apoc sized wych cult...

There will be more formations coming. Some of them right now are in the Armageddon campaign, and we know (because an early release is in the collector's edition) that there's another Apocalypse campaign being released in a few months. If they keep releasing campaigns, I guess they'll come with bespoke formations.

I think it's awesome to have Armageddon back in action, and the campaign-specific formations are a nice idea.

I'm doing something similar with a Cult of Strife list, though it will only fill about 1K points. Oddly, I never totally identified hellions as specifically a wych cult themed unit, but now GW has associated them via the Carnival of Pain, so I guess I better add them to my CoS list.

I really like the Dark Olympiad.
I believe that one could, in its previous incarnation, do a nice little combo with Duke Sliscus. Here's hoping it still can.
