Hello everybody,
I’m Gauthier from Kermorio Indie studio. I’m glad to provide you with information on our new video game Wars and Battles, a revolutionary turn based strategy game allying the sophistication of tabletop wargames with an easy gameplay. It will include several battles: the two first available will be Normandy 1944 and Gettysburg 1863.
This project is supported by veteran French wargamers such as Nicolas Stratigos, chief’s redactor of the Vae Victis Magazine and Frédéric Bey, author of the “Jours de Gloire” wargames. Some high-ranked French militaries have also collaborated: Colonel Michel Goya, Major Arnaud de Peretti…
My studio focused on realism: every unit (and there are hundreds in every battle) is defined by more than 130 characteristics such as its life points, quality, movements, attack points, movement capacity per terrain, command bonus, replenishment capacity, supply consumption, anti-tank and anti-air characteristics, capacity to perform strategic movements and to do pursuits…. Most of the rules of tabletop wargames are embedded within Wars and Battles, with an easy gameplay accessible to everyone.
Wars and Battles will be available on all the following platforms: PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone and Android tablets and smartphones.
TO FUND AND PROMOTE WARS AND BATTLES, WE LAUNCH A KICKSTARTER ON THE 15TH OF JULY! We would be extremely happy if you could support us and communicate on our project and Kickstater campaign. We need your support to make out of Wars and Battles more than a simple new video game: we want to build a reference and a community around it!
I thank you in advance for your support: don’t hesitate to tell your friends about it!
I’m glad to discuss or to answer any question on this forum or on our website www.warsandbattles.com
We are also on Facebook (facebook.com/WarsandBattles) and Twitter (@warsandbattles).
Cheers!

Hi! Today is Gettysburg 150th Anniversary. In 1863, more than 90,000 Union soldiers and more than 72,000 Confederate soldiers supported by their respective artillery faught on the heights of Gettysburg. From July 1-3, 1863, this little Pennsylvanian town will become the site of the Civil War’s bloodiest battle and a decisive confrontation for the future of America.

Last weekend, more than 8,000 Civil War re-enactors from the Blue Gray Alliance marked the 150th anniversary of the July 1-3, 1863 Battle of Gettysburg. You can see very nice picture from there at: darkroom.baltimoresun.com/2013/07/gettysburg-marks-150th-anniversary-of-civil-war-battle/#1

150 years ago, General George Pickett led the famous charge that led to the defeat of the Confederate Army. 12500 men from nine infantry brigades crossed a 3/4 of a mile large open field to break the front line, supported by heavy artillery bombardment. 50% casualties and ending of Lee's campaign in Pennsylania.
A battle to be revived in Wars and Battles!

Hi folks!
69 years ago, from the 7th to the 9th of July 1944, the Canadian and British forces were involved in operation Charnwood, facing Germans in Normandy. Debates concerning the Allies' performances in this battle are still alive: though they secured the North of Caen, they failed at taking the South of this area.
This operation will be present in Wars and Battles, in the Battle of Normandy. More details about this operation via this serious work: http://bit.ly/JSoAcj
Don't forget you can get our official wallpaper if you like us on Facebook at http://on.fb.me/14taI3W

69 years ago (18th of July 1944), the British VIII coprs and three armored divisions, under General Bernard Montgomery's lead, launched an attack aimed at taking more territory to Germans, just after the Second Battle of the Odon (and destroying as many German tanks by the way). It is known as OPERATION GOODWOOD.
It was a strategic victory for the allies, who weakened the Germans and in a sense prepared the next steps, but a tactical victory for the Germans who held their positions: the controversy over this offensive, resulting in casualties whose numbers are contested as well, are still alive.
This battle will be present in Wars and Battles (Normandy 1944)! You can check it out here: http://bit.ly/12ykxKP

Hello!
I have a few annoucement for you today. Our game is progressing well: our team is going to focus on the in-game menus and the gameplay, including the selection of the units and the formation of the stacks. This work will be done coordinating all members and specialities in our team.
We have also a lot of work on 3D: here is a new artwork. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a_ewUJn4Fg
By the way, we would like to thank you for your support. Please keep sharing this Kickstarter link with your friends, fellow bloggers... http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1966970044/wars-and-battles
To finish, please note that 63 years ago, during the Korean War, Lieutenant-General Walton H. Walker, commanding general of the US 8th Army, ordered his troops not to step back, though having been assigned an impossible mission and previously foced to go on the defensive for few days. This order is commonly known as "Stand or die!". To be precise, Supreme Allied Commander in Japan, General Douglas MacArthur had pressured Walker not to retreat in any case, but he had to.
Cheers!

Good morning,
Today, our wargame designers are presenting themselves in a video: active militaries, experts in modern #military matters and historical facts, they are the people who created the rulles, maps and orders of battles of any #videogame present in Wars and Battles (and they are all very nice).
