Hi all - with Veil of Tears now being a psychic power and therefore not up if you lose initiative what can be done to make a Harlequin army playable? Not winning competitions but simply playable...

I play 40K to chill out and relax and am not looking for a imba/l33t/win every game force - I've recently gotten back into gaming after a 20 year break so want to play what I like in 40K but obviously I'm way out of touch with all things 40K.

Ideally I want to have a core of 2 full Harlequin Troupes, Ilic and 5 pathfinders - everything else is open to suggestion for an 1850 point list.

What would you guys suggest for the remaining 1001 points?

Thematically:

Warp spiders feel very harlequin and are good distraction units to give the harlequins time to close in.

The farseer/Autarch with mantle of the laughing god has to be a must as your HQ

Jetbikes can be harlequin themed and are good troops

The wraithknight/wraithlord could be harlequinised and provides a tough unit that will draw some fire away from the quins

A great harlequin (counts as Karandras) could get one of your squads infiltrating with stealth - a nice combo.

A wave serpent isn't very f;uffy but tres useful ad copuld be boarded by the quins first turn

Also factor in the shadowseer can cast, and perils, and without any defence end up dead. So no more power. Or the enemy could have a deny roll. Or Shadow in the Warp.

Harlequins got hurt i feel. Could always ally with DE and get their version?

they did get hit pretty hard, i hope gw recinds and goes back to stealth/shrouded for them, the veil of tears is cool but if the psychic test failed they will be an easy target. I have two well painted (at least for my standard) groups of kitted harlies and they will be staying boxed for the forseeable future.
