*flails excitedly*

Yey! I get to work on another Space Marine Chapter!! :D

Oh dear. They look silly.
Far too busy and ott, the executioner is the only one I'd consider having, and it'd still need a helmet.

I like them all but the Master of Rites. don't like his face.

Tzeentch's Dark Agent

I'd give the Master of Rites a skull and have him as a Chaplain. :D

So.... what Chapter do I want to do...?

I'm not exactly blown away by these fellas :(

I like the master of Relics.
I think the executioner will look cool once I've sliced his legs off and given him a wider, non walking stance.
I'd like a closer look at the master of the marches.
The master of rites looks bobbins.

Didn't think of that, that will improve the model tremendously. Think I'll do the same myself.

Thinking on it, that Lord of Executioners would be an awesome model for the Lord of THE Executioners, High Chaplain Thulsa Kane.

Ditch the gaudy jump pack, that'll look sick.

I can imagine the Lord executioner being a great sergeant for a vanguard squad, but I'm not keen on the rest. Similarly, the master of relics... I dunno, a sternguard sergeant perhaps (though I wouldn't want a combi-plasma for that really), but that would really require a decent conversion job on the shoulder guard to get rid of the devastator symbol. The other two really do seem kinda meh to me. I want to like them, I really do, but I'm just not.

I fully reserve the right to change my mind when I see better pictures or the models 'in the flesh'. WD/GW really need to hire some better photographers as they really seem to be able to find all the worst angles for the models in recent years.

They look cool, but I do wonder, were these Company Masters dumped in the same boat as the rumoured plastic releases of the Hydra, Harpy and so on?

Since when have marines needed speakers on their armour ? I thought they had in helmet communications, and the helmet less dudes spoke into a microphone type thing built into the armour. Don't like them at the moment. I hope they don't sell them as a pack. I'm only interested in the executioner. The rest not so much. I don't want to start a finecast debate but unless he is in plastic I won't bother. I just don't enjoy painting finecast.

They are all finecast I'm really only interested in the accessories (cherub, speaker thingy, etc)

So it's a pass unless I can split the bodies with somebody

Fatagn!

There you go :D Knew someone would know.
Of course that's based upon them being painted up correctly to match the fluff in the pictures.

The Master of Rites is 7th Company. 3rd Company has the Master of the Arsenal (Mk III armour from the old set). Note the pinkishness on the Master of Rites' trim - the Third has blood red trims.

I think the master of relics would be a great chapter master or a tech marine IMO.

06-24-2013, 08:06 AM
They're all slowly growing on me. Master of Marches doing roll call, Master of Relics looking like he's the most adventure having marine this side of Hestan, Master of Rites reminding us all that spiky-skull-on-a-stick commands us to kill the faithless, and the Lord Executioner wondering "why do they come to him to die? Why do they come to him to die?" from behind the counter at Mikita's Donuts.
Does the Master of Marches have a bondage/Daft Punk cherubim?

Well spotted.
I might have been wrong.
I was just looking at the page with the Ultramarines' organization in C:SM, and there the 6th company captain is listed as the Master of Rites.
So the weird pinkish red might be orange in reality, or at least supposed to be. I think the colours are wonky. The cloaks are also kind of pinkish, which I doubt is intentional. After all, the pictures are scans of a printed magazine, so there's plenty of room for the colours to be inaccurate.

The 7th Captain is the Chief Virtucaller.

I kinda like these and can see me getting at least a couple of them, the Lord Executioner for certain. Here's a question, assuming you can paint well enough to make the tiny words legible, what would you have this chap reading from?

http://bloodofkittens.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/20130624-004010.jpg

I'm thinking it'd be kind of funny to have him reading from the Book of Armaments from Monty's Python's Holy Grail.

OK, so to attach the lascannon sponson you put pin A57 into right-bracket G12 and bolt into the hole in sub-assembly delta using a 28mm octagonal nut. Did anyone bring the medium spanner?

Curse you IKEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grgh.

I want them to be good. Really do. They've got great poses that communicate in ways that most Marine minis don't. Unfortunately, each also looks like they had a whole costuming department dropped on them. Shame. The Masters from the original release did the same thing, but without all the gaudy pomp.

Hmmm, not sure how I feel over all about these guys. I'll definetly be getting the Lord Executioner, but I'll be replacing the head with a beaky helmet (Mohawks don't strike me as being particularly 'Raven Guard-y').

And I can see a quite a few neat things about the other 'Masters', I'm not gonna lie though, the Master of Relics seems a bit, well, pudgy and baby faced, something I never though I'd say about a Space Marine.

Well, devastators do tend to just hang around eating snacks and plinking off an occasional shot while the rest of the marines go charge the enemy.

It's very different, and not something that I've seen in loyalists before. The emperors children might go for something like that, and clearly anyone in the Ecclesiarchy. I kinda like the look. There's a BOSE advertisement in that picture somewhere...

I like all 4, though my budget means I'll have to pick them one at a time as I can. I do plan to take the servo skull off the Master of Relics, and the floating thing off the Master of Rites. Floating thing can get its own base and become an objective marker. And servo skull will join my other servo skulls on bases of their own.

I think they are all great... Good descriptive poses based on their apparent roles... Just enough detail to signify their "special nature"... look forward to owning one or two :)

"Brothers. This is the list of the penances our Chapter must do to atone for Ultramarines, the Movie!

"Shouldn't take more than a century or two. Three at the outside, maybe four if there are a lot of battles we have to participate in, but we'll definitely be finished in less than five hundred years." Under his breath, "I hope."

I am still sad that there are no captains with genuine heavy weapons. Captain of the assault company gets to mix it up in hand to hand. Captain of the devastator company doesn't get to mix it up with the tyranid hordes or enemy tanks?

Kind of hard to stay in command and give orders when you are blasting away like the Heavy from TF2. He has a combi-weapon which is a nice boost (if only it had the option to be a combi-melta as well).
