I'm sure that the fluff is a nice read but the rules are crap, a friend of mine bought it from itunes, read it and then sought a refund as he found it to be pointless.

.

That's me convinced :p

a refund just because he didn't like it? it was fairly clear what the supplements would be.

the chaos whining is beyond ridiculous now, let it go.

I love that lukas, really do, dog with a bone and all.

I was hoping you'd do that after my post makes the point so much more appropriate.

I'm sorry but what? maybe this is a country thing again but you are ALWAYS allowed a refund after purchase if you change your mind within an appropriate length of time and have not damaged the product.....

Anyway, I have no plans on doing a BL army so I won't be getting it.

Not sure if I like the background. It is quite revolutionary for imperial fists - their chapter master (Vladimir Pugh) and chief librarian are dead now. What I really don't like was note that Phalnx is falling apart and naturally as a dark-age of tech relic is beyond repair. Does everything in Imperium has to be rotting and falling apart?

C'mon...
Also hello everyone:)

What wait? that's the crap they put in the sentinels of terra? seriously? thats the rubbish they put in a 50$ book? well that answered my question to me wanting to buy it... ... what a bunch of bull.

It is a great source of background information and story for the faction it represents. I've really enjoyed reading Sentinels Of Terra.

But it is never in a million years worth £30, especially if you are only buying it for the rules. They are lacking severely.

If you want rules then buy the Codex !!

If you want background, missions and a small SUPPLEMENT to the rules then buy the Codex Supplement.

I wish the negative nancies would just leave the forum. I can't go anywhere on these threads without seeing the same people whine unceasingly. So I can't even avoid the bad apples. Sad, really.

Its alright mate, we all wish for things we can't have. I wish people would understand tongue in cheek and dry humour, but alas it shall never be.

It certainly is a country thing. Retailers in the UK are under no obligation to provide a refund unless there is actually something wrong with the product (and you not liking it doesn't count). Many offer Goodwill returns, providing the product is returned unused and with proof of purchase, but they don't have to. Which is a good thing, because it simply isn't appropriate to have to refund all products simply because people found they didn't like them. I'm amazed Australia has such laws.

Customer: I read this copy of War and Peace and found I didn't much care for the ending, so I'm returning it for a refund.
Shopkeeper: I'm sorry, you must be confusing my bookshop with a library.

To be fair, dry humour doesn't really work on the Intertubes.

But yeah. People freaking out because a supplement doesn't include a 'press here to win without actually thinking about it, because we all know that's what you really want' button is getting dull.

then clearly you are both using the book incorrectly!

Seriously? If Chaos actually had the ability to open a warp rift anywhere they wanted then the whole battle for Cadia is completely pointless. Even if I weren't an Imperial Fists player I'd have to call BS on this. So now in this new fluff we're at war inside our own Fortress Monastery and our Chapter Master and Chief Librarian are dead too? So I guess this means that Lysander is in charge... Lysander who while having an utterly badass model, is a character I wouldn't put in charge of anything, as in the various novels he has appeared in he is a complete a**wipe of a leader.

Having four choices for heavy support? Four for fast attack? 3 for HQ? This can really be a difference maker for Chaos. And that Last Memory of the Yuranthos is crazy good. Throw it on a jet pack sorcerer, deep strike in the middle of a horde of xenos and pop! I get it, 98% fluff, but those that are saying the Black Legion supplement didn't give Chaos a shot in the arm are seriously lacking imagination. I use it. I love it.

having to buy VotLW kinda mean you don't really have the points for those slots though. chosen with VotLW are for example the price of a grey knight

Well then don't use them. The elite section of the codex is sad regardless, making cult marines or even chosen troops doesn't help their usefulness much. I agree, it would be nice if they would come out with a supplement that makes fluffy armies viable, but we take what we get. The troop section of any chaos army hoping to be competitive will likely comprise of only cultists. The fast attack slot has some great choices, the heavy support slot is nasty as well. Obliterators and hell turkeys are the core of successful chaos armies imo. We can't change the rules to suit us, so we work with what is given. 4 squads of obliterators is downright mean. Back that up with 2 turkeys and you're cookin. You can fit that, 3 squads of cultists and two sorcerers into a 1750 list easy. It's amazingly effective. I was disappointed in the supplement at first too, but it gives you a lot of freedom with the foc. I only play chaos and was getting tired of getting my *** handed to me by tau and eldar but since switching up my list to take advantage of the black legion supplement I've been doing some *** handling of my own(no homo).

If!

remember as much sense as it would make to have legion supplements, well it would make that much sense to also make legion rules a part of the main book.

With the rumours of finecast's long awaited death, new plastic kits to replace them may coincide with new supplements. Plastic Aspect Warriors being a good example that may go alongside a Biel-Tan book maybe.

Anyone able to order the Black Legion Supplement from the GW site ?? White Dwarf showed it would be released on the 16th november but it isn't on the site ? (except in the special Chaos Collection)

I have been anxiously awaiting the hardcover version and now I can't order it :-(

Is there any chance the rumored Alpha Legion Supplement ( http://natfka.blogspot.de/2013/09/release-schedules-white-scars-black.html#more ) is going to happen?

The Alpha Legion supplement has already be released. You have to hold the fifth page of each supplement up to a lamp to read it.
