View Full Version : BoLSters Beasts - the Pet Thread...

Right, I have seen the odd pic of our favourite furry friends on other threads, but rather than derail I thought it might be amusing to have a specific thread to post your best pics of your pets. To start, here with my vicious child eating staffy, named Boda, enjoying Christmas a couple of years back (short for Bodicea of course).

Dead get your beasts on, and everyone else.

Here are my pack:

http://i1288.photobucket.com/albums/b489/_wolfshade_/2010-11-07111023_zpscc33cdb0.jpg

The one of the left is Beauty a mastiff cross and the one on the right a staffy/american lab cross.
Both are rescue dogs, Beauty was on RSPCA rescue on Sky1 not that we knew that at the time being starved. Bruno is missing a front leg owing to abuse from previous owners.
The make a formidable pack together. Within 2 days of this photograph, the ripped up the floor and I had to replace it. They are back in crates again now.

The big dog, Rescue, is awesome. Max, the golden retriever, is just dumb.

Pugs are very cool, good with nippers too I have been told, Bulldogs are great, but very stubborn. My mates Bully is very laid back, horizontal really but when it comes to food he's a monster. Try and shift him when he's napping on the sofa and it ain't happening.

It's a very dark day for the family today. Buddy our dog has been getting increasingly aggressive towards children. We have had him looked at by the vets to see if he has any condition that could be causing this new aggression. The dog behaviourist has said basically its down to his breed and he could become increasingly unpredictable. As much as we all love him the risk of attack is too high. We have tried rehoming him but the RSPCA, Animals in distress and Blue cross have all said rehoming isn't an option as he is a reliability. We only took him in 6 months ago and I love him to bits. But the vets think the best and only option is to put him to sleep. He will be going this afternoon. We're all devastated.

I'm quite sure he had a really rotten start in life and at least the 6 months we had him he was happy and had nothing but love from us. I will miss him deeply

Such a shame to hear that buddy. Better for it to be done now rather than because he had attacked someone. Hope you're doing ok.

On a lighter note; I am thinking of getting a duck. Local farm is selling some chicks (both duck and chicken) and I thought a duck might be quite an interesting pet. Has anyone had any experiences with them?

Also, I don't have any pics of him, but our current 'beast' is Scooby the cat. I know it's a dogs name, but when we first got him, he was a little pest and kept knocking everything over, so we figured we'd be saying "Scooby! Don't!" a lot. We were right. But now he is an old fart. Lovely, but far too lazy to do anything warranting us shouting 'Don't' at him lol.

Night System has a little kitty as well. If you didn't know better, you would swear he was a clone of Scooby. To the point that when Night System came to my house for the first time, he was confused as to how his cat had beaten us there.

Ok so not Ragdoll kitties, but slightly related and with my favourite large dog breed. I love rotties, soft and sweet as anything if looked after properly, although regardless of how big they get, they always seem to have the "I'm a little puppy" complex running through their heads.

I'm guessing one of them is probably this.

Look at all the ****s I give
Kitty automatically passes all and any leadership tests and is immune to affects from rules such as rage, fear etc. In addition, any model in contact with kitty losses benefits from any psychological rule.

If it fits, I sits
Kitty counts as impassable terrain that can move, any model caught in kitty's path is instantly removed as a casualty.

Two in fact. Don't expect pictures any time soon but GOD! Ragdoll kittens are teh adawble. Not named them yet, boy and a girl, going to let their personalities develop. Had a diisrupted nights sleep, the boy (temp. name: Kitty Masculinus) decided the best place to sleep would be on my face so he draped himself over my head like a sleep mask and his fur tickled my nose. The girl (temp. name Kitty Feminus) went straight for my decolletage instead. They are nine or ten weeks old and quite large, apparently ragdolls get big.

the boy (temp. name: Kitty Masculinus) decided the best place to sleep would be on my face so he draped himself over my head like a sleep mask and his fur tickled my nose. The girl (temp. name Kitty Feminus) went straight for my decolletage instead. They are nine or ten weeks old and quite large, apparently ragdolls get big.

Everything you have ever owned now belongs to them.

Cute.:) Got woken up by two little fluffbag kittens wrestling on my face. Because the alarm at 5am isn't early enough, let's wake her up at twenty to even though we don't want anything...

It's on the list, also Sappho, what with her penchant for decolletage.

How about 'Useless' and 'Not a Dog'

Then trade them in for a great big affectionate dribbling monghound?

Bought the kids some sea monkeys couple weeks ago, monkeys were doing well until my 3 year old fed them ketchup.

Ditto on that, utterly cute,

I'm glad my kitty never showed any interest in sleeping on my sculpts.

Cats > dogs. Dogs are silly and obsequious.

Boy kitty had an adventure. I was in the bath and girl kitty was sitting there watching me (really tempted to go with Sappho...), boy kitty came trotting in behind her, saw me and decided he wanted hugs and ran via the shortest route taking him over the bath water. Turns out he isn't Jesus Kitty and fell in. Flailed for a bit then managed to swim but couldn't steer very well so I sloshed over to him and scooped him up and wrapped him in a towel and he went to sleep. So adawble.:) The whole time girl kitty is watching him with this look of condescension on her face.

Damn straight!!!

Dogs rule! Mostly because they are all a bit dim. Dim, but loving.

As for Boy Cat..... Knowing Cats, I'm thinking he only went for you in the bath on the off chance he was electric.....

Pets you say? Sadly, I haven't fathomed out the picture posting technologies, but even if I did, I'm not sure there's enough room as we have 4 dogs, 14 cats and various fish.

Sadly, in the last 6 months we lost 4 other cats through illness, a lack of road sense and one nasty b****** with an air rifle. Technically we do have another but she's been missing for over a week.

My condolences go out to Deadlift. I've lost count of the number of dogs and cats I've said goodbye to over the years. Never gets any easier.

Heard the other day that some agency (state or private, not sure which) has desert tortoises that need adopting. I briefly considered it, but then decided against it. I think tortoises are cool, and in general I'm there for animals in need, but I don't think I'm ready to commit my as yet unborn grandchildren to taking care of something. These little critters generally live longer than humans do.

Yeah my mates parents recently bought a South African Grey Parrot and he pointed out to them that, with an average life expectancy of 70 years, they had in fact bought him a parrot.

Poor Tommen. He should have been a Stark and then he could have a much closer relationship with his pets. Also it would avoid that whole awkward 'my dad is my uncle and my mother is my aunt' conversation when he brings a lady back to meet his family for the first time.
