40K Chaos Marines: Plague Mc Plaguerton army build

Just getting into the game. I have never painted models before but I have done an art minor in college. So, I am starting up a Warhammer 40K army. CSM, daemons and Orks look really cool. I am starting with the CSM and then probably branching out to 1 or both of the others.... this could get expensive. ha.

Here are some picks of my 1st Plague rhino that I put together last weekend. I did a bunch of green stuff work basically just to check it out, work with it, get some experience with it. Not sure if I went overboard or if its just right... thoughts? Should I build a couple more like this for my plague marines? I have been painting a unit of plagues and a regular unit over the past 2 weeks. Still a ways to go this summer!

Outside of playing around with some protector for these guys, I think I am done. I see people using some gloss enamel (?) paint and then a de-glossing paint over that. I will probably test some of that out on some spurs and see what it looks like.

My next 2 projects are 2 daemon princes. 1 Nurgle from the CSM army, and 1 regular prince from the Daemons army (who may fit both CSM and Daemons if I ally in Daemons). I am going to be modeling the Chaos Daemon prince after the ones Kenny had at wargames con. The Nurgle one has had some High Elves Flamesphyre Phoenix wings purchased for it and will be attached. Even if I don't use them in my regular rotation, it will probably be good to have one because you can get one from a chaos boon table? IDK, I am still making my way through the rules. Ha.

Nurgle Daemon Prince complete (well, minus finishing the base). The hand has been magnetized so I can swap between the sword and a mace I am building for another Daemon Prince.

And work begins on the other daemon prince. This is going to get the Skaven piece on the weapon. The hand has been lopped off and magnetized. I am building out an interchangeable Black Mace that I can use on the NGP above. I have added the Hellbrute arm. Should I add the Hellbrute leg also? I have 2 pics linked that show it 'with' and without. Thoughts? What would look better?
