It's a bit weird I was wondering what is the maddest unit you can think of for 40K. It dosn't need to be real or even useable. here are some of mine

Yes they were and that was the reason why GW dropped them as an army or a unit choice for Eldar.

I had a really good win rate with my small army of Harlequins (36 models) got so bad that I had to use my normal Eldar because no one would play against them.

Back during the Rogue Trader days they were even worst.

It may not be 40k....

But aboard my Rogue Trader's flagship, the Carpe Diem, the nobility that we evacuated from a planet got the hump, and began demanding a say in how I run my little flotilla.

As we are currently on the run from the Inquisition (eep!), I didn't have time to listen to their demands. But, like a good admiral, I swore their voices would be heard, and referred them to my seneschal, who would hear their concerns and report back.

My seneshcal? Gronk. Gronk the Ogryn....

Yep. That ought to keep them occupied for a while.

and lastly the wierdest one -
The Daemon Codex equivalent of a defiler/MC plus, the Daemon Knight, a Jetpack MC with a toughness of 8, ability to upgrade to skyfire and intercept, comes with a ironhide, a 4+ invul save, it will not die, FNP, and 2 nasty long range weapons, one anti-heavy infantry, one anti-tank. It is immune to any attacks that remove it from play such as the black mace tgh test, or the hexrifle wounds test, and has eternal warrior. It cost an arm and a leg in points though (over 300 points), and takes up a Heavy slot in the FOC.
