This has shot right up to number two on my 'oh my god must have now' list of games, just a bit behind Dragon Age 3.

Quite enjoyed Battlefront 2, until we got caught up in an infinite space battle...we'd win. He'd respawn. He'd attack. We'd win. He'd respawn. He'd attack....so on and so forth...

Woke up to this surprise....we knew it was finally coming ever since EA announced their deal for Star Wars, but still....
The massive cheer from the crowd should give you all you need to know about how anticipated this game is by everyone. Hell to the yes!

Yup, I was never the hugest fan of the originals, I mean I liked them a lot but I wasn't heartbroken when III didn't appear. But I'm incredibly excited to see a new Battlefront made with the best tools available to us today.

Was a hufe fan of Battlefonts. Hell BF2 is one of the only last generation games i go back and play. Add in technical development, their experience with battlefield and online play.....this could be very special

So apparently this is really early in development to the point they are still deciding on the direction they want to take the game, so probably no firm details for quite some time.:(

Ah, but 3 featured Co-Op 2 (maybe Co-Op 1...memory fades) which was utterly, unspeakably awesome, and made even the hardest mission a cinch!

Anyone else think Battlefront 3 will be a full-on FPS if DICE are making it? Just seems logical. They did come out and say they aren't there to copy the old ones or to make "Star Wars Battlefield".

It's a distinct possibility, and I'm fine with it so long as it keeps the flexibility in terms of the types of engagements you can, well, engage in.

I must say that though the trailer confirms the Hoth battle will be in it - why else would they have it - it could very well be modeled more on the new movies. In fact, I bet its release is going to be synced up to the first of the new Star Wars movies. If the Star Wars movies hit the Expanded Universe, we may either see Clone Wars replaced with New Alliance/Imperial Remnants or add it on to the old two eras. Still, all speculation right now.

If that space to ground and ground to space feature with hundreds of players in the same battle/server returns in some form, I will be over the moon. The leaked footage of the "dead" Star Wars Battlefront 3 was nothing short of amazing. With the new consoles to develop for, you could expect similar tech with even more players/bots and no loading screens....
Ah....possibilities.
