Snappy title eh? And in no way misleading! Huzzah!

For me.... Night Goblins. There's just something about the little bundles of black clad viciousness that appeals.

Models wise, they're awesome. All Goblins are. Suitably small and weedy, and still manage to look pretty pathetic, even when fielded in a massive block.

Units? Love them to bits! Big block may look weedy, but looks impressive. Squigs are all shades of awesome (but mostly red and ivory). Squig Hoppers, Mangler Squigs, Squig Gobbas, Trolls.... There is nothing I don't like about the diminutive psychopaths.

Background? A total and utter disregard for life. Even their own. I love the ambiguity as to whether or not they just don't care, or are too dim to grasp the concept!

But....but.....all that painting. Stuff the cost. If I wants it, I'll buys it! But the sheer number of models? And the conversion/dioramas practically demanded.....ARRGH!

I would say space wolves. The reason being was I wanted to run a lot of wolves see. Not that I would have any scoring I would just have wolves. I felt I might not win with just wolves and thunder calv. However I felt a lot of wolves would be cool. Whay can't a rune priest be on a wolf.

One day the whole wolf army would be created.

Lizardmen I've always fancies a LM army but after painting a few Saurus warriors I discovered I absolutely HATE painting them.

Brets, initially the cost, lots of lead cavalry, then more recently (last 2 years or so) the "new bret book is just around the corner".

An imp guard tank regiment(Anybody remember that old WD with the bloke who had about 50 tanks? I want more...)
An Airborne cavalry regiment
A Tallarn desert recon company mounted on cold ones
Bretonnians cause they look awesome

That's just a start...

Vampire counts but due to having 5 40k armies that rarely see use a wood elf army that has been used twice and countless other models, I don't think it would be logical

I'm scared to start...ooh tough one. Would probably be Warriors of Chaos because everybody in my local area plays them, but the models are so darn awesome. Ah well, I'll settle for High Elves and Vampire Counts.

My long term goal was to have an 'Ard Boys (2500 points when Ard Boys was around) ready army for each 40K army available. However the Deamons and CSM literally creep me out...and I use 'literally' literally. :D The fluff, the pictures all of it. I would like to have a standing army ready to play, but ewwwww. The tongues on the Slannesh model, etc. I don't even read the fluff in the codex...I just look at the army lists so I can be familiar with the armies when I play against them.

Now full disclosure, I find Father Nurgle something special. The Vraks books are my favourite of the IA series and when he comes tromping through laughing and killing in that way that all grandfathers do, well, I just find that funny. :D
So yeah..

There is a lot of truth to this statement. 70s and early 80s mainstream anime is my speed. :) This new stuff is waaay beyond me...new being anything in the last 30 years.

I would avoid Power Rangers too. The finale of Mystic Force had the big villain explode out of one of his reluctant henchmen so he could consume the mother of magic. They got more messed up until Nickelodeon bought the property.
Oh, and Lizardmen because dinosaurs are always cool and a 40k version of my old titan legion.

Green tide 40k or Fantasy, but I know its never going to happen.

I'm about 1/3 the way through a 40k green tide at the moment, that sweet spot where I'm too invested in the project to give up but the end is still a long way in the distance. I'm hoping that 3 years in the future or whenever I finally finish, it will be worth it.

Because of that, an orc army in fantasy is the army I'd love to start but be too scared to.

Norsca Marauders (fandex) and Space Marines.
Marauders are way too much scratchbuilding. And marines......too low motivation.

I'm also terrified of the addictive nature of Gobbos. No army is ever truly complete, but none offer quite as many opportunities for conversion and general nonsense than those lovely Gobbos!

Pretty much anything that either has a lot or big or expensive models in general.

There's reason I got into 40k again with Grey knights and Deathwing force. Then it became an Ork force, which... I wouldn't consider doing now because boyz aren't available for relatively cheap anymore.

Out of the top of my head armies I might like but will most likely never start;

- Beastmen; Partially due to the amount of models... and I don't think the playing style fits my generic playing style. I love the models though.
- Tomb kings; If only because I'd like to do a nautical themed army with the TK rules and not egyptian. The cost in conversions would drive the price way, way up.
- Skaven; Even though they are cheap because of the Island of blood stuff, the models I like most are still metal or ridiculously priced finecast (Poison wind globardiers, Warplock Jezzails)
- Tyranid gaunt spam; The sheer amount of gaunts, and the costs that comes with it... just no.
- Dark eldar; Love the models, but... I just don't know if said playing style works for me.
- Sister of battle; Metal be gone... and get pretty female head sculpts. Or more helmeted heads. Aside from that; Don't know if that codex is even reasonably playable.
- Death Korps of Krieg; Well, FW...
- Elysian Drop troops force; See Death korps
- Anything "30k"; See Death korps... also, if I want to, I'd like to play them in epic battles with 30k themed armies head to head... I know of no one who plays 30k. Finding people for 40k is hard as is, lol

If I was asked this 18 months ago I probably added Orks as well. But I managed those pretty well actually... so more power to me for actually starting an army which I thought was to massive and expensive to tackle. Just over a year since painting my first Ork (may 2012) and I'm counting about 3000 points of Waaaaaaaagh! I scoured the interwebs for a lot of Black reach orks though. Still I'm about 1/3rd away from having a full green tide... unless I include non-troops orks (lootas, etc.) Then... I might even make it.

Ohh I have a few I'd love to do but doubt I will ever get around too owing to a combination of lack of funds, lack of time and a slow painting speed. Some of the armies I'd love to create include:

- Savage Orcs: Not that big a fan of Orcs and Gobbos generally, but there's just something about Savage Orcs that appeals to me. I'd have to include a couple of those Rogue Idol's from Forgeworld in the army too.
- Imperial Guard: I'd love to do an army themed after the Cobra organisation from GI Joe. This would require a lot of converting to pull off, especially the vehicles (Leman Russ HISS tanks!). Story behind them would be a renegade system that has seceeded from the Imperium, but not gone over to Chaos and now wages war to expand its own empire into neighbouring systems.
- Amazons: Very much a Counts As Lizardmen army. There are no shortage of models from various companies that I could use to pull this off as would not be aiming for a large army really. This one is the most likely of them to be done, if only because of Specialist Games being dropped, which puts a timer on the availability of the Mordheim and Blood Bowl amazon figures.
- Warriors of Chaos: Specifically Tzeentch as I love the colour scheme for them. I actually have a lot of the figures for this already as I got them years ago. It's just finding the time to do anything with them, so until then they languish in their boxes.

I think Cowboy Bebop is probably the oldest I've seen.

I bet you're missing the Tallarns?

I also would love a Kult of speed
and a massive colour co-ordinated empire force...

cowboy bebop is amazing.

tallarns yes, not overly fussed about them. I did have a 4,000 point matched empire army in 5th edition...

Hrmm... interesting.

From Fantasy I'd say Wood Elves as I always wanted to start an army of them but have been waiting for new rules for quite awhile.
40K would definitely be Death Corp of Krieg. I make plenty of money but I simply can't justify dropping that kind of cash for a playable army (especially since it would be infantry heavy).

Eldar - Will be doing shortly !
Elysian Drop troop - Airborne cav as all the models are forgeworld out of my price range for now

Wood Elves - Want to do a dragon themed winter elf army with a big frost dragon
Goblins - Squigs and more Squigs

An Alpha Legion force carefully converted and calibrated so that they could be used with both the CSM and SM books. But it'd probably take a lot of filing off chaos stars and imperial eagles and carefully matching both box sets and magnetising stuff, not to mention trying to pull off a good green to deep purple-blue paint blend.

Vostroyan Artillery Company (lots of mortars/Baslisks/etc...) I got started on it but then had some unexpected bills, and had to sell the stuff off.

Ork Dread Mob (IA) i would love to toss "The Great Walker Wall" But with 6th ed. that would get crushed insanely fast, and it would be lots of money

Running of the Grotz. The monetary costs alone are keeping me from getting this list together. :(
http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2012/10/40k-editorial-brents-2k-challenge.html

"Pure" Harlequin Eldar list Current rules don't permit it anymore :(

Fantasy
Bretonia I like the Calvary rules, but not the models, if only it were ok to use Empire models instead of Bret models...

Slayer Dwarves (Kazak Kadrin) Storm of Chaos had rules for it, but those are now defunct :(

I would say that Dark Elves is the one army I've wanted to try but something is just a big turn-off for me about them. I don't know what it is, but I just can't bring myself to paint or play them.
