No signs of it on GW.com. It should have been up for advance order today right?
To those people with an iPad is there a digitial version for order/available?

Well it did say released on the 8th in the WD, could be there is no pre-order for it. I think that happened with Crusade of Fire or Death from the Skies?

Up for pre-order on iBooks. £24.99
Looks like it contains ways to change the force organisation to tailor more towards a true ghost army. Says it contains alterations and additions to Codex Eldar.
Stratagems for cities of death and planet strike. Iyanden missions and a bunch of other stuff. Goes into explaining about Iyanden houses as well. It's a must buy for me.

It was on retailer order lists so I still really doubt it's digital only. Nice picture from the preview page:

Sounds like a good book for fluff-fans, I might actually get this one since it sounds like it has very little rules in it :)

So any rules in said book are likely to be better than everything in the Eldar codex?

That's fantastic :) no sarcasm intended. This has made me really quite happy (in case you hadn't noticed)

On a book that's mostly background? Dang. Sorry, Eldar players. At least it's just an ancillary book.

I'm both curious and concerned how much of a "rulebook" this would be, and if they plan to do this for each of the major craftworlds.
Curious because I'm not all that happy with what this new book gives us compared to what most other books have provided in 6th ed, and if these supplement provide separate routes, almost like a form of do-over.
I'm Concerned because there is a thought that GW somehow managed to figure out DLC for books (Moreso than normal). Where we pay for a codex, but 5 sets of "supplements", meaning an Eldar player is not even close to complete without buying 1 and a half rulebooks, or 1 full and 5 half rulebooks for all the craftworlds. Marine player would only ever have to shell out for one book and get all the special rules for that chapter. It could be argued that if a marine wants to play different chapters, which is a somewhat valid point. I will say, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, it's clear people who are drawn to Eldar appear to be completely ok with paying too much for something somewhat effective, so I guess they are testing the waters and seeing if it applies to RL too (nice move with the Dire Avengers, also if this is the case, the likes of Imperial Guard Players will get an encyclopaedia for a Codex.) I know this is not the first time they did this, even with eldar. When I got back into the game, I dusted off my old childhood Eldar box (Jesus I am happy I never sold that now) and inside I found this cute little book called "Craftworld Eldar". It was a brief thing that just changed the general organisational structure of things and had lots and lots of painting info (back when goblin green bases were current meta), but it was 1 book that managed to address 5 main craftworlds. Now they are going to spread out this concept over 5 full releases? Are Biel-tan going to have some Aspect Warriors as scoring but can't accept any non Craftworld Eldar as battle-brothers? Are Iyanden Wraithguards going to cost 5 points less but guardians cost 1 point more? (I am not a game designer, I have not balance tested these random rules, just pondering what could be)
I am almost as interested in how impactful this book turns out to be than I am with the baseline codex. On one hand, it could make being an "Eldar" player more interesting and varied than it already is, on the other hand, if it is too good these might be mandatory, it could be a cynical way to sell people an extra book, as "no idiot would ever play vanilla Eldar". On another hand, Matt Ward... and on another hand (holy crap chaos mutation, so many hands) is this even a route GW will see all the way though, or just make one book for this craftworld, and drop the idea before doing the others.

that argument doesn't really work though, marine players buy the supplement for their chapter, elder players buy the supplement for their craftworld. you don't buy all the supplements and get to use all the different rules and changes.

Ha! Prepare for nerdrage.
But it's perfect. You can choose from a Kelly codec OR a Ward codex. For the first time Eldar players have that choice :)
Question is, will people let me play an Alaitoc force as Iyanden?

Proof will be in the pudding as they say.
My moneys on a serious tilt toward threads titled "my fluffy iyanden list" rather than "my eldar list".
We will all soon be ignoring army threads for iyanden armies, as they will all become very similar and overly popular.
Yawn.

I see requests quite frequently that people want special alien codexes. Kroot comes to mind. Exodites, specific craftworlds, etc. The real question is, will GW make more of these, and how many are willing to buy them?

I can see more supplements coming with figure releases. A Sam Hainn Codex with the release of new sculpt jetbikes and maybe a Sam Hainn Character.

Just downloaded the preview of the supplement and while it doesn't show any rules it does have a tidbit saying "On Iyanden, where the boundary between the land of the living and the dead is particularly thin, the ghost warriors are s numerous and so active that they have willingly taken up the burden of the craftworld's wars. Thus have the Wraithguard, Wraithblades and Wraithlords adopted the duties of once given over to Guardians and Aspect Warriors, overwhelming through endurance and implacability those enemies those enemies that would have once been defeated through deftness and grace."
This leads me to believe that they will probably move Wratihlords to elites. Possibly even changing some prices. Edit.... Hopefully :)

Looks like an Alaitoc book is incoming as well.
Codex p55 under Illic's Hidden Path rule "...any Eldar Rangers, or Alaitoc Pathfinders that are..."
Having Codex supplements for each Craftworld will be (expensive) but freakin' awesome!!!

Illic in the point section can make rangers into Alaitoc Pathfinders for an additional cost. They gain shrouded and his sharpshot ability. Don't hold your breath for an Alaitoc book just yet.

also, isn't Codex: Eldar basically Codex: Alaitoc? Apart from a few more Rangers, which we have as per Illic, is there anything "special" about Alaitoc? I mean Ulthwe has its Guardians, Saim-Hann its bikes&co, Iyanden its dead and Biel-Tan focuses on Aspects - what does Alaitoc do differently?

Not much really, not from a warfare perspective. Culturally very different, very puritanical about the path system. A supplement could still be made though when you consider it is going to be mostly background material. Special Characters would be nice, I would kill for rules for Thirianna.

Personally, I'm assuming this will be a prelude to Black Templars becoming a supplement book. If the rumoured wave releases for some of the earlier 6E books are real, then they may be released alongside new supplement books. I hope the Iyanden book does well, as these supplements could really diversify the game in a big way.

Biel tan is the most likely to get a supplement if you think about it. Saim Hann and Biel-Tan are easily represented in the current codex, Alaitoc really doesn't have anything special other than pathfinders which is what Ilic does.

You have to remember that finecast moulds are not that expensive, even plastic ones get cheaper by the day...
Biel Tan would be the perfect spot to introduce one or two new "rare" Aspects. Which would generate a nice turnover, both short and long term.
Saim Hann is the birthplace of the Vyper so it could do the same for another nice small/fast vehicle (hornet anyone?) or some "new" EJB variants. Again models for long term turnover.
Ulthwe could be home for an Aspect/Warlock mix with a "new" kind of model. In its simplest form Black guardians with their own model...
The list could go on.
Personally I loved the CWE variations from 3rd, if not by rules than by idea.

Hornets looks like awesome things, I would adore the ability to field them as a normal army with updated rules. While I -want- to avoid the word 'spam', those angry little things look like they were made to be spammed, fighting as a swarm.
There is a certain appeal to an army that never touches the ground, especially considering the cost drop for guardian jetbikes... It would also give me an excuse to re-do my paint to red, back when I was a teen, I never realised what colossal jerks Biel-Tan were (yes, even in the context of the universe, still massive *******s). Would it be too much to dream about a chariot mounted Avatar? I mean, while we have no info to go off at the moment, lets just make awesome things up.

"This supplement to Codex: Eldar allows you to tailor your Eldar collection into an implacable spirit host from Iyanden, greatest of the craftworlds. It tells the epoch-spanning history of Iyanden, from the Fall of the Eldar to the deepening darkness of the present day. You’ll also find a showcase of beautifully painted Eldar miniatures and a guide to the heraldry of the ghost halls. Finally, it includes new missions, both to recreate the craftworld’s famous battles and to reflect the favoured tactics of their warhosts, as well as new rules to use in games of Planetstrike and Cities of Death." (this is from GW website)
When I read this I take it as having.... lots background for Iyanden, painted models of Iyanden, and rules for Planetstrike and Cities of Death. I don't think it will even have rules for a normal game of 40k. I think that it would say that in the description if it did.
I may be wrong but that it my take on it.

White Dwarf Daily confirms today that it includes a variant army list which allows, among other things, Wraithknights to be taken as Warlords, a Spiritseer Council unit and a distinctive Warlord Traits table.
