Nice.
I was at work the other day, fulfilling my favourite role of She Who Glares Menacingly At The Public And Yells At Them If They Look Like They Might Touch Something and we wear those little ear plug things so we can be told what to do if something happens and all that. As you can seem I'm all about explaining things in great detail. anyway this little boy came up to me and said 'Why have you got spaghetti stuck on your ear?' so I knelt down and said 'Because I'm a really messy eater' and he said 'Wow!' looking genuinely impressed. So then I explained what it actually was and he said 'Wow!, You're like a spy!'.

I'm afraid I'm not a big fan of Marilyn. His covers of both the songs you mention were terrible. I also find his persona rather contrived and too obvious. It's all a bit too "try hard to be weird" and much like slipknot comes across as an attempt to commercialise the alternative.
Psychosplodge

MM has passed his best. I've seen him twice, and both were shockingly bad. he was so pissed/high he couldn't remember half the lyrics and spent most the time stumbling about stage muttering nonsense.
I think originally he was quite a clever performer, and found a niche that was successful.
Slipknot on the other hand are good at what they do, and it doesn't hurt that a major label got behind them and really promoted them. Though as you say they are heavily commercialised as a side effect.
But compare them to someone like Trivium, who the record company spammed the **** out of to the point that every month they were in metal hammer or kerrang, but they haven't got the same draw as slipknot, as they simply don't have the same level of talent to take advantage of the resources made available to them.

What the bigger issue is is that the paper can't find enough to condemn red ed on it's own and smearing his family isn't the way to do it.
All his done is elicit sympathy for who is essentially a very mediocre leader of the opposition.

I really have no words for this, suspended for running along a side line (off the pitch) in a banasuit at half time. Of course had he been dressed as an animal it would have been fine as it is the schools mascot.
Where you have incidents of schools failing to expell/suspend children for bringing a knife to school then you have this.
Probably because it was during the sports game.
My favourite bit:
He asked the student: “Why a banana? Why not a … grape?”
“I don’t know,” Thompson replied. “Potassium is great.”

Not so much the story the title : Derby Muslim free school Al-Madinah closes after inspection
or rather the shortened title Muslim free school closes
I think this needs some punctuation.
Since a Muslim-free school and a Muslim free-school are very different, but the hyphen would help clairty from the outset.

Two Jews are riding the bus in 1930s Berlin. One of them is reading the Volkischer Beobachter, the official **** newspaper (it translates as something like "The Racist Observer"). His friend is aghast, and says to him, why are you reading that filth? We're being oppressed everywhere, things are getting worse every day. How can you possibly read that?
His friend calmly says, I know, I know, everywhere I look my friends are being beaten up, rounded up, spat on, thrown out of their businesses. But when I read this paper I read about how I'm amazingly clever, outrageously wealthy, and I secretly control the world!

This woman is clearly the product of cross breading of a unicorn and a person:
http://christwire.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/a-unicorn-women.jpg
Now you should understand that like with many human afflictions, Satan sometimes uses his powers of sin to alter the, alleles, and codons of the body, messing up the protein secretions in such a way that improper structures form, upregulation takes place and Satan’s genotypical sin is phenotypically expressed.
My best hypothesis is that Satan found some of God’s original DNA blueprint from the unicorn skeletons (original unicorns were pure and horselike, but drowned in the flood) buried deep in the terror regions, then used that DNA to genetically evolve sin right into the forehead of the unicorn people, to create a new magical master class of humans

Don't eat it's toe, look up the potions on a wiki, giants toe is useful in making expensive potions

hurrah, new phone has arrived. and it comes with a USB cable so I will actually be able to take some photos to upload here. why is it that phone companies feel the need to make the battery cover removal instructions as vague and unhelpful as possible? last two phones I have owned I have had to go online to find a proper description.

Anyone know if it's legal to buy up a second hand Black Cab, and then just use it as a private car, and not as a taxi?
I kind of want one!

Take the taxi sign off the top and any markings that say taxi and she's all yours!
I would personally love to do that and then just drive around in london confusing people.

I suppose it's the only way you could do the speed limit in an urban area and not get some jackass riding your rear bumper like they're trying to have a prison showers moment with your car.

As a BOLS forum newcomer, I felt it my duty to post in here at least once!
Noel Edmonds drives a black cab (famously to illegally drive in bus lanes!) so yeah it's possible. Why you would want this over a number of better options however...
Wolfshade

Well yeah, it is obvious the choice is a bicycle. It is quicker to cycle than use public transport in the capital, the balance point is where you start to push over 8 miles, even then there are still (a decreasing) number of longer journeys which are quicker. Plus you can use (the majority) of bus lanes.

I think this raises an important question.
Do you really want to be like Noel Edmonds?
Mr Mystery

Well of course not, but then that would also involve having to arrange an Elephant to be shot in the face with a shotgun....
On a funnerer note...picked up 'Dr Who Regenerations' today. One of only 10,000 worldwide.

Indeed, though I believe they must actually be used at some point between renewals to qualify. Wouldn't mind a lift from one, just for ****s and giggles.
P.S.
Thanks for pointing out my (now corrected) dreadful grammatical error!

I remember TopGear did a taxi item a little while back that was amusing.
I suppose you could just use the taxi to drive you to and from work, one pick up, making sure it is a company deductable, claim tax back on the trip jobby :)
Also sorry for pointing it out, it is a douchebag move, but rogue apostrophes irritate me to 11.
