Favorite Troops choice box

I was looking through my bits today, and I noticed I still had tons of Kroot and Ork bits in my boxes. As I started thinking, I realized both boxes (Aswell one of the older Ork boxes with like 16 orks) had huge numbers of extra bits to spice up the troops. The Kroots themselves dont havemuch in way of upgrades in a game. They don't have bits for a shaper or heavy weapons specialist. But they have tons of flavorful bits like meathooks, slabs of meat, grenades, small shoulder pads, and even flint lock pistols. Really a good kit for a very basic unit.

So, whats ya'lls favorite troops choice box for modeling purposes?

I like the Cadian Command Squad. Its got lots of great little bits and pieces. The Heavy flamer is great for vets, there's the servo skull, officer bits, pistols, holsters, flags, Plas pistol and a power fist. I didn't use it to make a command squad, I used it to make Vets and upgrade my normal squad Sgts and the Officer bits are going to make my Master of Ordnence. Very versatile.

From what I understand, the Space Wolves box has a ridiculous number of bits in it.

The Space Wolves box is awesome, definitely. TONS of stuff, enough to make just about anything that's wearing power armor in that codex.

My box is full of kroot and ork bits - I only ever bought one box of kroot (I got carried away with having a kroot mercs army and then . . . didn't pan out) but after like 5 years I still have heaps of bits left, and I've used them in nearly every conversion I've done.

Every time I think I've run out of shoulder pads or flintlocks or those little kroot grenades that look like Star Wars thermal detonators I find another one rattling aorund! It's starting to freak me out :eek:

assult marines (ba troops) I'll make 500 and not make the same pose twice, wolf sprue does look awsome though

I would say the same about Assault Marines for BA troops. I also do like the Cadian Command, as I just got one and have yet to exhaust even a third of the bits, and I am heavy into conversions from it.



I personally love the Ogre Bulls (i know, not 40k) but it gives you so many options with just hte two basic body poses.
