So far, the only auxilarries of the Tau we have seen all tend to serve the Fire Caste (Kroot, Vespid, Gue'vesa.). Do we have record of any other races serving any different castes, or of these races serving other castes?

I think he posted that in the wrong thread on accident.

The Tau have lots of allies, but we only ever see the fire caste because that's what's involved in war.

All I found.

There isn't any 40k models for Deniurg and Nicassar out of that list.

Well that completely supports the use of allies in other castes as the Nicassar are specifically mentioned as providing ships which are under the control of the air caste I believe

I wonder if that means that each race is allocated to a caste or would, say, Kroot Warshperes and Gue'vesa naval creman be under air caste. Even though Kroot dont care what caste their in

Kroot aren't really in castes, they're more like permanent mercenaries.

Demiurg would be mostly earth caste, they're probably good at mining.

What evidence do we even have that allies are part of the caste system? That strikes me as not very tau in mindset.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, I would tend to believe that non-Tau don't fall within the Tau caste system at all.

I think they would use them in caste's, but as their mercenaries, Vassal's whatever, they would not belong to that Caste, just work for it. For example, lets say the Earth Caste. Now, traitor humans might be workn for this caste, building structures on a planet. Now one o those workers may, or may not be able to get a transfer. I think not. The tau race does not see this is nessecary, so i don't think they would have made an allowances fo other races.

Once sombody is foced into the tau empire, they do what they are told. Kroot naturaly excell working alongside the fire caste, so their they stay.

Its very probable that their are dozens of entire races each split between what they are naturally suited for.

Along the lines of what I thought.

I always thought Human aux. would just be all over the empire being cannon fodder, miners, labourers etc.

I had assumed the question was more along the lines of "are there 'allies' used by other castes?" rather than "are there allies part of other castes" as the castes like Nabterayl, Just Me and a few others have said are almost certainly for Tau only, we on't actually have any real evidence either way.

There's always the view that the Tau themselves are forced members of the Empire due to the control the Ethereals exert over them
