Eldar codex preorder, a question for US folks

This is a question for folks in the US who have preordered 6th Ed. Codices from the GW website. I know what their policy says about this matter, but I don't know the reality.

If I preorder the new Eldar codex when it becomes available, is there a chance that I will receive it before the release date? Their policy indicates that I will receive it early in the following week.

This is important because I rarely get a chance to play anymore, but I have a game scheduled for the day before the probable release date. Any insight based on recent experience would be greatly appreciated.

My experience says not to count on anything from GW preorders, because you are as likely to get it a week and a half late as you are to get it three days early.

I've bought every CE codex and the rulebook, and had each one shipped to my house. None have arrived before the release date, and most arrived in the middle of the following week (i.e. release on Saturday, arrived on T or W).
