Hey all. I am currently at Nottingham for the Horus Heresy Weekender and will be blogging live all weekend with photos and news.

Today I am at Warhammer World and I just was introduced to Alan Bligh and John French and had a great little chat about the Heresy with them. So much fun to chat with the guys who write this stuff. They are both big 40K players and really passionate about the fluff.

The Ferrus Primarch and Fulgrim Primarch models will have a diorama of their duel....the two models fit together

Ferrus is currently in Simon Egan's fridge... Not sure why, but that's what he told us!

Second Fulgrim model is a 'vanity project' of Simon Egan, so not absolute guarantee we'll see it released. However, very positive opinions on it so far, so I reckon we will.

With Fulgrim, do bear in mind that he's the first part of a, well, duel dual set with Ferrus. Put together, expect it to look a lot more sense making.

To be honest I didn't want to see xenos in the HH series, they get beaten around enough in the BL books as it is.

Supossedly they are being saved for set 2 book 1 with prospero.

I'd imagine Euphrati's existence in the FW series will depend on if she returns in the Books. Either way I don't think we'll be seeing her for a while.

Just found out there was an alternate sculpt for Angron that will never be released.

The droppod dreadclaw thing is designed to board ships, but has the ability to be used as a drop pod. Has defence guns and to help it board ships has a "vortex melta" gun and tons of melta charges built into its mouth

Not all primarchs will be angry charging into battle, but lots will be as theyre gameplay models

Horus is likely to be next Primarch after Ferrus. Then sounds like it might be Kurze, with ADB reckons will be contraversial, but look like the Machinist in a batman outfit....

Big assault claw pod thing?

To have five ranged weapons on it. In 'flight mode' it sits horizontally on a flier stand, and the weapons point along the hull. In hover mode, sits vertically, and the weapons are intended to swing out, allowing it to fire at different targets...

PROTIP FOR FUTURE ATTENDEES!

Staying out on the pop until 4 a.m. on the Saturday really isn't that good an idea!

Really good event though. Naturally far fewer people than GD, so you can spend more time chin wagging with our resin crack dealers! Nice relaxed atmosphere, and a good location too. Although Taxis are cheap in Nottingham (well, compared to Kent) it's probably worth the additional expense of bagging a room at the venue. Less travelling, and just more sense making. I certainly will for the next one!

Ok, so this image needs a little explaining. This is the FW/BL Timeline for the Heresy. Each column is a year of the Heresy, and each box is a major event (with the battle for Terra being in a column of it's own just off the edge of the projection). The dark shaded boxes are what BL have covered so far. The rest is secret stuff we don't know about yet. Just have a look at the ratio of the areas of those sets of boxes...

I'm all for converting but that is really not my cup of tea.
The Night Lords are gonna be my Traitor Legion of choice when they come out and I was hoping I would not have to rethink that.

Not sure if it's covered, but apparently, the Night Lords are best described, even when loyal, as a Legion of Psychopaths... Who were already putting corpses and that on their vehicles.

And once again folks, I really, really cannot recommend this event highly enough. I know the price tag seems a bit hefty (£70 for this one) but the Goodie Bag is pretty snazzy (and holds a LOT of stuff!) the location is good, and the event is just....worth it.

Far more relaxed and laid back than a Games Day. More time with the sculptors/writers to just...talk about the hobby and things. The seminar room is big enough to hold every single ticket holder, so nobody is left out.

If anything, my one critique is...biggerer, betterer tables for gaming kthxpls! And perhaps....arrange a multiplayer mega battle of Isavaan III?

Istavaan III would certainly be cool, though would preclude anyone who hasn't collected the correct legions, not to mention those who are more there for the BL side of things ans just want to play 40k. I suppose it will be easier at future HH weekenders when they have a few more Legions out. And when they get the Siege of Terra book out, how ever far down the line that is!

What's happening with Adeptus Titanicus?? I saw several slides regarding it and pics of titans in cases but cannot find any mention on these threads?

Anyone know anything??

The slides were a lot of showing where the Horus Heresy came from (originally a filler text because Rick Priestly messed up when pasting out the pages and no one had time to do him a small bit of art work, then used as the back drop for Adeptus Titanicus because they couldn't afford to do different moulds for the plastic sprues for each side, so had to do one side red, one side blue and say they were in a civil war), and the pictures of the titan's in the cabinets were the original pieces used for the box art, repaired several times since, and thus the precursors to all art work about Titans and all Titan models through Epic to armour cast and then Forge World.

However, Forge World will definitely be coving the Titan Legions in their Horus Heresy books, including more Titan models (not necessarily just a Warlord and more weapon options for the other two, but whole different classes that don't exist really in the 41st millenium due to the loss of technology.)

I emailed FW about the release date of the new Legion tank and they said that it will be released sometime over the next three months.

Sadly, I had but one question, and never got the chance to ask it during a seminar. Reminded of it today because I'm re-reading Fear to Tread.....

I had been hoping to find out whether we might see some Xenos love from FW, even just as 'one off' vanity projects. Models to represent things mentioned in the novels, but without any accompanying army list :(

Xenos did get mentioned in a couple of seminars. Basicly FWs attitude is that during the Crusade, all the xenos were either exterminated or went in to hiding. either way, with the Heresy only last 14 years, they really want to concentrate on the Heresy forces (Legiones Astartes, Titan Legions, Imperial Army and Mechanicum). As the Xenos stuff we do see in the BL books doesn't directly fight during the Heresy era (Post Istavaan III is actual heresy, the rest is still crusade) it is unlikely they would make it into the FW line. They simply have too much other stuff to do all ready.

On the other hand, they did suggest a way for balancing Xenos against HH forces; allow them to use the HH FOC. You get a Primarch, an Ork player might get a Stompa, an Eldar player might get a Revenant or a Cobra... you get the idea.

It's probably for the best to leave Xenos out anyway. They don't really contribute anything, and it'll let Forge World focus more on each legion and their different iterations.

We've used the Primarch rules to come up with a ork super boss and allow ork players to take an additional 500 points each game. Been balanced so far.

I think the phrase was "their either hiding or dead" along with "reason we won't do xenos races - fury of the legion". :)

Also Aaron dembski-bowden telling us he would kill everyone one us if it would give him the chance to re-boot the novels.

The main xenos faction involved with the Heresy werent really a military force either, of course I'm refering to The Cabal which are more about manipulation, spying and subterfuge over fighting. Wouldn't really make much sense to add them to the heresy books (And I love the Cabal it should be noted).
