Help with choosing a Chaos Space Marine colour scheme

Evening all, im looking for some suggestions on how to paint a unit of Chaos Space Marines. I've decided that they have the Mark of Nurgle but I don't necessarily want to paint them varying shades of green. I also have ordered ModelMates Rust Effect which I would like to use on them.

So what colour scheme could I use?
How best to use the Rust Effect?
Any other suggestions?

Do you have a traitor legion or chapter in mind? It might give you some ideas to search those on lexicanum and see if there's any you like.

I'd like to second this idea. There's lots of neat inspiration there - both pictures and background to help inspire you.

Yeah I would agree with Kyban, the other thing is search for Mark of Nurgle and see what images you see and if you like the effects
