You would need to shave 20 points of your list as you are over.

you don't need to post every redonkulous rule that the codex has. Just post the unit and your upgrades and total points...

Take off Crushing claws and add Scything Talons on at least 1 of your Tervigons. D3 attacks wont make that huge a difference on a beast thats not really built for combat.

Do it once and you will be at 1000 points. Do it 3 times and you have 40 points spare gor something else.

I disagree, Smash = 1 attack, +D3 + 1 for charging, re-rolling 1s = 3-5 Str10 attacks.

Crushing claws adds to Smash too? Hmm, hadnt considered that.

If thats the case then id say drop it on one (to get you to the correct points) and keep it on the other two.

yeah, all crushing claws to is add d3 attacks and force all attacks to be I1.

Ex. Living Battering Ram +2I is negated by Crushing Claws on a Carnifex.
Ex. The Psychic Power that grants higher Initiative is negated by Crushing Claws.

But I thought Smash reduced attacks? (Its been a while since I havent used MC's in 6th yet.

From BRB, p. 42: "Additionally, when [the model with the Smash rule] makes its close combat attacks, it can choose to instead make a Smash attack. If it does so, roll To Hit as normal but halve its Attacks characteristic." As it is only the "A" value on the unit's profile that's getting halved, Crushing Claws gives a d3 additional Smashes. Makes the Tervigon a decent can-opener, and does a number on units that can't instagib the big bug on the charge.
