I'm taking part in our local league and I'm facing Necrons in my next match.
We were making our lists not knowing who you're going to face and then, when mix was made all lists were open for seeing.
As I'm not a hardcore tournament player I'm not sure what strategy should I use when confronting my enemy.
Some help and ideas would be welcome.
Here's my list:
- CHAOS LORD - Mark of Slaanesh; The Black Mace; Sigil of Corruption
- CHAOS CULTISTS x19
- CHAOS CULTISTS x10
- NOISE MARINES x5 - Blastmaster [30]
- NOISE MARINES x5 - Blastmaster [30]
- RAPTORS x5 - 2x Melta Gun
- HELLDRAKE - Baleflamer
- HAVOCS x5 - 4x Autocannon
- OBLITERATOR
- OBLITERATOR
And my opponent Necron cheese ;]
Illuminor Szeras: Gaze of Flame, Eldritch Lance
Destroyer Lord: Warscythe, Mindshackle Scarabs, Sempiternal Weave
Necron Warriors (19): Gauss Flayers
Necron Immortals (10): Tesla Carbines
Canoptek Wraiths (5): Whip Coils x2, Particle Caster
Monolith: Eternity Gate, Gauss Flux Arc x4, Particle Whip
We play The Scouring scenario. What dirty tricks may I expect? What to be aware off? Maybe some ideas about target priority? Any help would be awesome.

This is 1000 points a piece I gather?
The good thing for you is that, aside from the Wraiths with the Destroyer Lord, it isn't too bad of a Necron army list. Dealing with the Wraiths will be difficult, but aside from that, you have the tools to deal with the rest of their force. Depending on your game size board and how (s)he deploys his Monolith, the Raptors would make a good suicide unit to get rid of it. Failing that, you have the Obliterators to hopefully get lucky and gun it down with their lascannons, but that is a bit unreliable. Spreading your forces out to minimise the damage the Monolith will do is a sound tactic, as is using cover to your advantage.
Lucky for you, dealing with your Heldrake will be very difficult for your opponent; use it to go straight for the Warriors and Immortals. I would actually recommend going for the Immortals first if you can, and try to flame all of them in one go; use the daemonforge ability to reliably wipe out the entire unit and deny them their Reanimation Protocols. The key to beating Necrons is target priority - don't divide your firepower if you can avoid it. Dealing with Wraiths, for example, is best achieved through weight of fire and exploiting their Toughness of four. Your Havoc unit will be good for this, though they will also be served killing the Warriors.
Because it is the Scouring, a bit of luck will be in play as to how many points each objective will be worth. You have two Fearless units (three if you attach the Chaos Lord to a unit other than Noise Marines) that are scoring, and three that aren't, as opposed to one Fearless scoring unit and two non-scoring on their side. Exploit this as best you can and you should be on your way to victory. I'm sorry I can't offer better advice, as I am quite drained at the moment and haven't played a 40K match against or with Necrons in a while. Another player will probably be able to provide better advice. Good luck, and have fun :)

Use Raptors to take out his Monolith as they have been nerfed to crap. hell drake his troops and shoot as many shots as you can at his wraiths. he has no vehicles so he cant hide from your hell drake. I forget what Illuminator Sz does, but try to make sure he doesnt have a 2+ save guy closest to the drake when you flame him, or he will just soak up the wounds.
He definitely has one of the oddest Necron Lists Ive seen, but if he likes it, more power to him.

Canoptek Wraiths (5): Whip Coils x2, Particle Caster
My first priority would be to take out the wriaths, through shooting of course

OK so I've lost 15-3. His Wrights with Lord where unkillable for me. At the end (7 full turns) there were left 1Wright + Lord, 3 Immortals and 9 Warriors with Illuminor.
At my side there were left Chaos Lord with some Cultists in his squad, 4Havocs (3 Autocannons) and Helldrake (he returned from 1 HP up to full 3 at the end).
For my bad luck he rolled Legendary Fighter for his warlord trait and earned himself 3 more VP's. When I can't deny challenge it was very annoying when he was killing my naked champions.
Also for more bad luck I've baleflamed his last 3 immortals two times each time rolling one (1) to wound and then he reanimated them each time.
I've made few mistake, nothing catastrophic, it was just not enough to brake his units or kill at least one whole squad.
He was smart and deployed his 19 warriors squad in 3 floors of ruins so each time I've hit something between 7-5 at time with baleflamer still not enough to make some significant looses.
Even when I've lost soo bad it was fun game and I've enjoyed it.
Lesson for future, don't play against Necrons ;]

Frankly, I'm surprised that Necron list ended up winning.
How exactly did things play out? How did he use his stuff?
(just by looking at it, I can't see much of a strategy)

I probably would have just taken a bunch of normal marines with uber grit and maybe mark of Khorne and punched the robots in the head. Taking expensive weapon options on your lord in such a low points game seems like a losing bet too. Just hook it up with a power axe or something.
I bet thousand sons might have fared a bit better than noise marines. Just a hunch but they're really good at mowing down MEQ.
