Really good review that. I'll let my housemate have the link to it as he has Necrons and was contemplating getting this book. I hope he does, cos I wanna read it now!

Great review! I've been thinking about picking this up and probably will now. I was also looking at IA:1-2ndE and IA:11, though it's probably better to wait for an Eldar update rather than getting IA:11 now. Have you taken a look at either of those?

Hope he caves for your sake, then :D I was very surprised to see it turn up today - glad I sprang for the express shipping given it's not meant to be released until now.

I've reviewed IAs 8-12 inclusive and IA: Apoc 2nd ed (http://collegiatitanica.blogspot.com.au/search/label/IA%20Review) :) I've not looked at IA:1v2, but there's not a huge amount in the 1st ed that hasn't been reproduced elsewhere so I wouldn't bother personally.

I'm just so glad this book is out, so maybe we can finally get closer to an IA book featuring DE.

great review - just one question: what about the Tomb Sentinels? They should be in the book (at least judging from the FW website), but you didn't mention them...

Sounds like a good book from that review although reading that the hades is now unbroken is bad news for my Krieg.

Thanks all :)

@ EG - the flyers are the Killer Croissants :p

You are indeed correct, I must have missed it due to the model not being out yet. It's basically a Stalker with a short ranged no-save make a Str test or die blast weapon.

Got my book yesterday, the Hades had already been changed in the IA1 update so its incarnation here isn't much of a surprise, the problem is that it it went to the complete opposite end of the spectrum and is largely unuseable now.

I posted my thoughts on the DKoK Assault Brigade here (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/525995.page) and a good overview of the Necron list can be found here (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/525960.page). Haven't found a good review of the Minotaurs list yet, but I'd be happy to answer questions about the book in general.

Apparently there is a female Necron phaeron mentioned. RELEASE A ******* MODEL FOR HER FW!

Dammit, I knew I was forgetting to put something in! The Mother of Oblivion, who is too dread to even look upon without going mad. So probably no model :(

ideal for conversion opportunities though. just put a base down, 'that is the mother of night, you may not look upon her' 'that is just a base' 'no, heathen, it is a model so terrifying your brain is shutting down'

OMG I can't believe that there is a Maggie Doll. One distressing thing though. On the inside sleeve in looks like she is having a few toilet issues.... Or is that just my dirty mind?

What would you call the move? 2+ to hit and auto wound for the mental wound that you would have from seeing up there

I don't suppose there is a picture of the mother of Oblivion?

Gotthammer

No, she's just referenced a couple of times (specifically as waking last), and indicated as being at the top of the Dynasty's flow chart. The figure at the dinner may not even be them as they only feature in a mad dream sequence of sorts.
Hopefully if they revisit the Orpheus Sector...

So definitely a woman. :p (says the girl who gets up at 5am half the year)

ha, yeah, seems so :D
Wait, there's a five o'clock in the morning now? When did that happen?! (got up a 7pm yesterday, lol) :p
Funnily most girls I know are morning people. I do not understand.

Technically yes, in my opinion everything before ten hours should simply be referred to as The Ungodly time. Unfortunately it is also the time one usually starts shooting small and delicious avians.

Heh, my first job was as a baker so I'm not exactly one to talk... why does everything tasty involve getting up so early? Even when not working nights I've always been a big fan of the 10am wakeup, go to bed at 2 (theoretically) so you can still do stuff at night but not waste the day.
Explains the Necrons wanting to kill everyone, damn primitives woke them up early! I know I'm pretty grumpy first thing in the morning :p

Always a good plan. Except when they're being noisy and wake you up. I'm liking the idea of an underground complex guarded by everliving machines that kill anyone who might disturb my slumber more and more...

Post instructions, that sounds useful. Unless it's a euphemism. In which case go on and post that down in the oubliette....
