View Full Version : Request; An Intro to Scenery and Building Construction

Greetings everyone.
For a long time, before I knew 40k existed, I have been interested in trying my hand at model building. Now that I have decided to play IG it seems there are plenty of reasons to start now. Only problem is I am not quite sure where to begin. I know this will be a trial and error process much like painting. If anyone can help me with the following issues I would very much appreciate it....

1. Links for good FAQs and walk-throughs.
2. Places to get the materials (that thick pink foam stuff everyone seems to use, green stuff, plastic card, anything else I need?)
3. Proper tools
4. Advice from any any gurus!

Ok another question...
In terms of miniature train scale (O,N,H,OH,ect) what best fits the scale of 40k stuff?

It depends, since GW uses heroic scale, the building might be the right scale, but the terminators dont fit through the door.

O scale is closest. You could also run G.

It depends, since GW uses heroic scale, the building might be the right scale, but the terminators dont fit through the door.

Thanks for the info! Terminators can deal with it...hell im sure they are use to making their own doors in most building.

There is also another scale used that is compatible. 'S' gauge. Not as common as 'O' gauge.
(Have a model railroader brother-in-law - even better, his mate runs a shop so I get cheap terrain stuff).
