View Full Version : The Four Horsemen of The Daily Mail...

Mr Mystery

Afternoon all.

Need some help.

The above title dropped into my brians earlier, during a phonecall with a consumer. And it's intended to be a Halloween costume theme.

Now, without going all social commentary, and purely as an exercise in poking fun at Britain's best selling paper.... what do you think the Four Horsemen of the Daily Mail would be?

DrLove42

Immigrants
Cancer

Wolfshade

Simples:

Illegal Immigrant
Single parent of 72 in £5million mansion
Foam play pen closed because of health and safety
British soverignty signed over to Brussels

Mr Mystery

I think it's just any old Immigrant.... but how to do it without going racist?

Single Parent one is good (though perhaps just 'scrounger').

Health and Safety is genius.....

EU...just someone in an EU T-Shirt type thing?

Go as Van Rompuy, the current president

Given it's 'elf & safety you could wear elf ears. Though carrying a clipboard and pen and tutting under your breath at perfectly safe things would perhaps be more straightforward.

Could do both...would make for an easy and comical outfit....

Hard hat, safety googles, HiViz jacket,

Possibly conkers (as per the school that banned it because of H&S)

Box with various toys and that with 'confiscated' written on it?....

Or 'Confiscated, by order of Europe'

Wolfshade

Possibly.

Rans?

Mr Mystery
04-10-2013, 02:47 PM
So far, my Facebook chums and I have come up with the Four Horsemen of the Daily Mail's Apocalypse as....

1. The Guardian, a curse upon his journalistic integrity!
2. Citizen Scrounger. He steals from the rich, to give to the poor disabled Eskimo lesbian immigrant orphans.
3. Captain France (though likely settle for Captain Europe, complete with vibranium banan curvature measuring device and the clipboard of bureaucracy)
4..... Still working on the fourth..

Wolfshade
04-10-2013, 02:48 PM
Also-rans, its a noun hence we can have also-rans :)

Mr Mystery
04-10-2013, 02:52 PM
Could have the fourth as 'the immigrant'. But that would be very hard to do without a level of inherent racism that would require explanation that its an intentional satire on the stereotype being sent up. Ditto Islam and indeed any given religion.

I totally haven't come across that word before! Fair play, I'll go with that!

Also, The Guardian?

Mr Mystery

Yep. The opposite of The Daily Mail. Left of wing, liberal of thought, and makes use of research before publishing... The name is so suitable no need to alter it!

To be portrayed by my mate Lurch.

Currently looking into spandex lederhosen (spanderhosen?)

Wolfshade
04-10-2013, 03:04 PM
Yeah it is from hrose racing :s

What do you mean, the Mail is left wing...

Mr Mystery
04-10-2013, 03:10 PM
Gentlemen..... You may not believe this....

But I have found a spandex lederhosen morph suit. Capitan Europe is a go!

No, no photographs!

Mr Mystery
04-10-2013, 03:21 PM
Search for Morphsuit Lederhosen!

It's real! To top it off, a cape is to be made from the European flag, and its emblem emblazoned upon the chest.

And a clipboard 'shield of bureaucracy'

No....

Mr Mystery
04-11-2013, 12:11 AM
Oh I'm afraid so.....

It is now as inevitable as thinly veiled racist sentiment in the Daily Mail....

Wolfshade
04-11-2013, 01:38 AM
I used to read the daily mail before it got too left wing for me...

Mr Mystery

 Also rans!? That's it Wolfie, you just made the list. For your information, you have been a member 17 months longer than I have. Based on my post count to date, if I had been a member for the same length of time my post count would be roughly 700 higher than your current count.

Woo made the list. Wait is that a good thing?

Your post count would also probably be a lot more "useful"

Woo made the list. Wait is that a good thing?

Probably not. There's only really you on there at the moment and I'm not entirely certain what it's for, but you definitely made it on there.

Well I feel honour/scared*

(*delete as appropriate)

Will this take up any of my time or will it be like Sheldon's mortal enemy list?

Wildeybeast
04-11-2013, 06:50 AM
No time investment required (beyond that which you have already made to earn a place on there). It's not quite a mortal enemies list, more like a Book of Grudges which need addressing at some stage in the future.

Wolfshade

Excellent, carry on.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas

Wolfshade
04-12-2013, 03:38 AM
Hehehe Splogy wants some nuts for Christmas :p

Psychosplodge
04-12-2013, 03:43 AM
No just the candy, but I'm sure someone would enjoy nuts...

Wolfshade
04-12-2013, 04:00 AM
Do you not enjoy holding the salty nuts in your hand feeling them brushing against your skin before leaning back slightly and taking one or two in your moutth. Savouring the lighty salt flavour before swalllowing them down?

Psychosplodge
04-12-2013, 04:04 AM
Not really, it leads to having to swallow more fluids.

Wildeybeast

You'll be on the list too at this rate pony boy. Also, I think homoerotic banter should probably have its own NSFW/NSFK thread.

I don't have the time...

what's NSFK?

Wolfshade
04-12-2013, 06:16 AM
Are we no longer talking of Nobby's nuts?

Psychosplodge
04-12-2013, 06:19 AM
apparently not. Who'd have guessed?

Wolfshade
04-12-2013, 06:20 AM
I used to love the facts that they had.

Chilli coated ones were something special/

Not Suitable for Kids. I just made it up.

Psychosplodge
04-12-2013, 08:38 AM
its totally suitable on the basis of being over their heads.

Wildeybeast
04-12-2013, 08:39 AM
You clearly don't spend much time with kids.

Wolfshade
04-12-2013, 08:52 AM

There is a reason and a court order explaining that...

As little as possible, if they get the joke though they're old enough for the joke.

There is a reason and a court order explaining that...

I stand by my argument you're allowed to shoot vermin on your land, the court just disagrees over the definition of vermin.
