The new Tau book isn't out yet(saturday), and I have yet to see the new weapon stats, but as far as I can tell from all the articles is that Pathfinders are still overpriced for what they do, and they have no imperative use on the battle field at bs3 and armor 5+ now (unless you just like using them), vs (my preference) the Tetra skimmer which is 60pts upgradable to bs4 (markerlight being heavy 4), is fast, comes stock with a dis-pod, has jink (invul), and a marker beacon...and that's leaving all the cool tricks at home.

I'm really hoping that the new dex just makes the Tau a pain in the arse to play against (I want Necrons to feel trepidation), but I'd like to remind everyone that some of the older stuff that FW has (and is TOTALLY allowed for play) buffs the blue warriors cheaply and to more effect that a lot of the new toys and special rules do (from what I've seen on here and on warseer)

Here's to a great new dex and old awesome FW kit!

I think the jury is still out on pathfinders. There are so many ways they could have been fixed - make them cheaper, give them other options that make them neat, give them options that make them harder to kill while they lug their markerlights into position... I think I'll need to see the book before I'm sure.

That said, I'm quite happy that I own my pair of tetras. Quite happy indeed.

YouŽll need them for markerlights. Tetras are not a codex option and only a few players will own them. Beside of this, I think FW will follow up with upgrades for their TAU-Stuff (if not, they plan a new book with them).
