Ubisoft have announced they will be making a new Might and Magic RPG (http://might-and-magic.ubi.com/mightandmagicx-legacy/en-gb/home/index.aspx) after an eleven year gap. I grew up playing these (I think VII was my favourite). Oddly enough the story in X seems to picking up after VI which might mean it is a sort of re-make of VII.

I still play Arcomage from time to time.

Hmm looks interesting enough. I never got into VII all that much, but I spent so many hours playing VI. Was such great fun to have all four heroes with the best bows, trained up and just run around shooting constantly, killed everything like a machine gun. Good times.

I played heroes of might and magic a lot, but never might and magic, always meant to try one

You can get the old ones on gog.com for a few pounds, graphics are dated but gameplay is solid. Old school learning curve though, can take a few tries to get the hang of of useful character skills and whatnot. Early on a lot of dungeon runs are literally just that, you run in, grab some items, run out without atackign anything cos you'll get slaughtered. VIII-IX aren't very good though.

I think I've played one of those before.

Are there any on PS3?

Nope. The last Might and Magic was released in 2002 on Pc only and I'm fairly sure Heroes of Might and Magic is Pc only too.

Nope, just X-Box. I forgot about Dark Messiah, fun game, little repetitive.

Is gog legit?

Seems cool, but if there's anything shonky I'd rather not.

It's legit, I've bought something like 50 games from them without any trouble. All compatible with modern operating systems too, much easier than digging out old discs and googling workarounds to get them to work on anythinf newer than Win2000 or XP.:)
