What a buzzkill this morning.

More power armor is exactly what we don't need in the release schedule right now.

Hastings has Eldar next but this is apparently strong enough for Natfka to post.

Space Marines are set to be released in June according to this new rumor set. Not only that, but the mystery box coming this fall is explored and talked about. Lets just right into it this morning, since I woke up a little a late today.

Guess what Internets! Rumours are mostly made up by those with little else to do!
Hastings however tends to be pretty reliable. Faeit....to be fair, Faeit just posts up anything rumour shaped. Which is fair enough, but does prevent his site being reliable :)

1. Hastings has Marines coming after Eldar
2. June, July, and August have not seen a codex release since 2005- the summer is for expansions and waves.

consider though that they could release the SM without any significant change in models, which effectively gives the sculptors more time for codex:eldar

Huzzah for the Power Armour!

We're having far too many non loyalist marine books so far for 6th. I would love this to be true ;)
I have heard / read there will be a new rhino variant and a suit that's bigger than TDA but smaller than Dreadnought armour.

I don't mean our TDA, I mean Tactical Dreadnought Armour.

I just hope it's Ward again muhahaha.

Ward is my hero!

That is an interesting rumour, not sure what use it would be though, or what save it would get, can't improve on 2+ but then I wouldn't like to see things that small getting an armour value.

I would suggest if we're this close to an Eldar release, those sculpts were done a long time ago and the completed sprues have been sat on shelves from anywhere between 6 months to 2 years.

I don't think we can use past release habits of GW in any way shape or form anymore.

They've clearly abandoned the "old ways" of doing things.

As for there not being enough "loyalist" armies redone for 6ed - You must have been a hall monitor in middle school.

Indeed, but it still gives them the break/time whenever they did it

The chances of DL being in an LEA that has "middle" schools is remote, the chances of them having hall monitors is even remoter.

Hasn't their only been Dark Angels released so far?

Lol not sure if that was a personal insult or not, either way I ment so far in 6th we have only had DA for the "good guys"
Was I a hall monitor ? No I was sent to boarding school because I had a bit of a reputation ;) and any normal school couldn't contain me .

The mystery box will be WHQ or BB. Great, that's really informative. I'm sure no one indulging in idle speculation as to the contents of a possible mystery box would have come up with either of those suggestions.

His source is really reliable, but he can't say anything to substantiate this.

He was told what was coming next in Warhammer but he forgot. It's probably one of those races everyone has been saying is coming for some time.

Is this really a rumour source to put your faith in?

You know, "Space Marines in June" and "Eldar before Space Marines" aren't mutually exclusive. It just relies on there being an Eldar release in May.

The mystery box will be WHQ or BB.

It'll be both at once - BBQ!

*sigh* how many times has Faeit said he just passes on the rumours he receives both from Hastings and other sources ? There's no "rumour battle" Faeit is just a conduit for rumours one of which is Hastings. I think Hastings may have even done a Q and A on his blog last week.

Hey, just fun phrasing, but point taken - I forget how tough people are the rumormongering sorts, and just cannot handle the uncertainty. No need to give more grief, joking as it might be.

Anyhow, point being, I'm not sure a Faeit post, regardless of the source, has ever contradicted something Hastings had said and been right, especially this far out. There's always room for error here, but I wouldn't bet on the streak breaking.

That's cool, personally although I am a big SM fan I do hope Eldar come after Tau, my wallet is struggling as it is at the moment and I could use a break from armies I collect coming out one after the other. You are right, Hastings is usually on the money but I have read that he isn't following 40k quite so closely now and this could explain why he could be slightly out. He has been a source of recent SM rumours including the new suit and rhino variant.

Reminds me of Mystic Meg.....

Today's lottery winner will be a man......or a woman....

But as established, Faeit himself is akin to a one man Forum. He posts what he's passed, and makes no claim to accuracy.

So, there?

I don't care about any of this! I want new Guard. And Dwarfs. And maybe Space Wolves. But especially Guard. And Dwarfs.

Lol, fair enough although I think Wolves are ok just at the moment. Actually I think the BA could do with something, they out of all the marine dexs seemed to have struggled the most in 6th. I don't count BT, they're going vanilla muhahaha.

I don't play Fantasy, but a new Dwarf book would encourage me.

I don't think we SM players need a new book any time soon. Eldar need it more. And i second the cry of " bring on the dwarfs". off subject i can't spell to save my life but im sure the word is dwarves. Please feel free to call me an fool.
Edit: i know what it says on the army book. I just though that it followed the same rule as elf-elves.

Isn't there an old WD with a bloodbowl quest battle report in it? basicly they played bloodbowl on the whq tiles instead of the normal pitch/board and added rules for wall bounces?

BFG is too big a game, it'll be a stand alone boxset like they did with dreadfleet, so either BB or WHQ would be idle...

Gav Thorpe wrote a piece once about why it was Dwarfs and not Dwarves

yes, dungeon bowl.

I do wonder if these special limited release, self contained boxes will spell the doom of the specialist games. I would love a mordheim update, but if GW are doing the main three systems, and one off boxes, maybe that wont happen again.

They've already cut back the range of specialist miniatures you can get.

SM after eldar, next year sometime. 40k Supplment in June/July, no codex. High Elves in May, Lizardmen sometime after that, Eldar in October/November then no new books 'til early next year.

SM are coming, just not in June.

Just because I'm an eternal optimist, I'm going to say 40k Supplement in June, Lizardman in July, Eldar in Aug/Sept.

If we do really get 4 codex books a year and this sets a standard for following years, they could actually theoretically complete the release schedule in a 4 year cycle since there are 16 armies.

Technically it is dwarfs (as per dwarfed & dwarfish) according to the OED. However, when used in a fantasy context, Dwarves is acceptable as that was how Tolkien spelt it. The publisher repeatedly corrected it for him, much to his annoyance.
