So the blurb for the bikes say they have "Twin Bolters" <-- Not "twin linked" just "twin"
does this mean
a) ONE twin Linked bolter - so you get a reroll
OR
b) Two single bolters - so you fire two shots?

and if it is b) - can you then rapid fire on enemies within 12inches with 4 shots?

i have reread this a few times and when i have played it i have treated them as A - but the more i look at it the less sure i am, maybe i jsut want it to be B.

thanks for any answers

In the codex entry it states twin linked.

If you read the unit description here http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440275a&prodId=prod1060092

it also says twin-linked.

ok - the website says twin linked - yes

but the codex on page 68 says in the second last paragraph simply "twin bolters"

and there is nothing in the errata - so its maybe a mistake in the codex?

Probably.

Codex Space Marines p.100 "Space Marine bikes are fitted with a twin-linked bolter."
Ignore the description of units for rules purposes, the only instance where you pay attention to them is for the Ulumeathi Plasma Syphon.

Also
p.45 of rule book
"Each Bike or Jetbike in a unit can fire with one weapon for each rider on the Bike."
SM Bike has one rider so can fire one twin-linked bolter.
