Boring old Dark Angels

So I'm going to throw this out there: After reading through the first three codexes of 6th I feel like DA are just, well, boring compared to the other two.

I'm not sure what it is about it, but I feel excited to play C:SM and CD, but when I flip through the DA codex to come up with list ideas it just doesn't do it for me. It's not that it's a terrible codex, it's very well balanced and the components all work well together, but the overall feel to it is sort of "meh." I had actually been excited for DA before they came out but now I find it difficult to work up the will too paint the models I bought for it, meanwhile I've been on a huge plaguebearer/plague marine kick the last couple of days, even finally got around to painting my Nurgle Daemon Prince. I've also created four or five new lists for CSM/CD allies since it came out, plus a couple of CD only lists. Meanwhile, I've only ever put together one ravenwing list since I've had the DA codex.

Just wondering if anyone else was feeling the same or if it's just me.

Yeah I can see your point, especially as your painting Nurgle, it's such a fun theme to paint. I think the randomness for a non competative player adds some fun to both the chaos books that the DA one is lacking. Much like the Orks codex too I suppose. That has to be one of the funniest codex reads ever ;)

I'd actually like to try playing dark angels some more. CSM is pretty cool and characterful and I'm interested to see what shenanigans Daemons can get up to (I'd love to splash some into a CSM force, 'Thirster and a fat block of deep striking Bloodletters would be pretty ace.) But I haven't played a codex-like space marine force since I was a kid and I really like the synergistic potential of the list. I've been messing around with the stuff in the boxed set in small games (got an extra tac squad and a dread to go with it) and getting that one-two punch of raven/deathwing to work is pretty satisfying. Nothing like dropping a few twin-linked assault cannons out of the sky with perfect accuracy.
