Hello one and all! This'll be where I post updates on what I'm working on and to get feedback from you all on various things, from "How should I paint this guy?" to "This piece [picture 1] or this one? [picture 2]".

Good times should be had by all! Look, an exclamation mark, it must be true...

Starting off, some of the minis I've finished and based!

A Veteran Sergeant wielding two close combat weapons just to be cool. Fluff be damned, sometimes. The chapter is a friend's own making, a successor to the Dark Angels: Ironwing.

Ok, so I kinda lied, not everything is based yet. I like to get ten to twenty models ready, then batch base. The process is a lot easier that way.
Simple Terminator conversion.

I'm kind of going from the beginning to end of my Photobucket account, so things steadily get worse. A nightmare, I know. Also, I don't have a consistent light booth or whatever the proper term is for taking pictures of my minis. They aren't great enough to warrant it, so I've just had to make do.

This guy is a multi-tasker when building army lists. Either he's a veteran sergeant with or without a powerfist counts as (wouldn't put it past the guy with a halberd. Grey Knights can go cry somewhere else...) or a Company Commander with or without a powerfist. A fun model that makes me want to order more of the GK arms. Lovely bits, those.

This model was a joy to paint.

Did a Blood Angels captain because it was something different to do and I have two of these models laying around. Yes, bone shoulder trim isn't in the Blood Angels "book", but it looks pretty good (at least it does to me).

Now that I've gotten a bit better and actually own a pot of Graveyard Earth, I want to repaint Ezekiel. Eventually, perhaps, eventually...

Why yes, this one should bear a resemblance to Iron Man. Friend of mine has a kid who wants to do an Iron Man Space Marine army (kid is young, can't blame him, right?). I felt inspired.

More to come...

And for giggles, it's a Scout with Braveheart-esque facepaint!

That's about all I've got on the painting front. At least, what's worth sharing. Onto "conversions" then. Quotation marks are there because most of my conversions consist of arm swaps, not the best ones either.

I've got to make a banner bearer to flesh out my command squad. They all have legs from the Assault Marine box to help them stand out, so that explains why he's running with the banner. The ornate bolter from the Command Squad box was too cool to pass up, so I slapped it onto a pistol arm but I am not sold on the look. Is this idea worth binning, and what should I do instead? A chainsword or regular sword?

Another member of the Command Squad. DA Combat Shield with a GK Halberd. Looks pretty nifty.

Excuse the poster putty, I was doing a mock up. Not everything will fit, I'm afraid, so this model is on hold. The plan was to make this an Azrael model (I've got the wings from the DA Veterans box to pull it off) that stands out.

This is the last one, I swear!

Chaplain with a combi-melta. Really there as a support role and looks pretty neat. Once I two of the ten Assault Marines back on their bases I'll start running them again. Just a fun unit.

Inspired by one of the guys at my previous hobby store (the one with all the kids, bleh), I've decided to make some Rough Riders for the Imperial Guard army that I don't own. It's a good conversion challenge, however! Do note that this picture is before I figured out how to reposition Guardsmen's arms to look like they're holding reins; the chainsword on this guy is not there anymore. Chainmail has been covered in GS and the boots filed so they aren't as pointy.

Another picture of the halberd guy in the Command Squad.

And the last picture for now! A Swooping Hawk done up in Ulthwe colors. I couldn't find any picture of Ulthwe Swooping Hawks so I hope it looks Ulthwe enough! I am working on the base now; sand and snow.

Hopefully that wasn't too much of an unpleasant experience for you guys/gals! Hopefully so, I dare not take pictures of my earlier stuff from years ago... trust me, it is a sad sight.

I got the Swooping Hawk based! A good day indeed...

No thoughts on the standard bearer? How sad :(

You sir, have talent.

Maybe you should put that terminator captain on the larger base, so it fits with all the other terminators you might do.

Many thanks :)

If only I had the right base(s) for him! :D I have lots of the old metal Terminators that are awaiting priming and painting, but since I don't use them in lists currently they're shifted to the bottom of the queue. I'll have to find a ton of bases of that size (40mm, right?); is there a good way to get just the base size I need besides buying multiple bags of the GW base bag?
