Has anyone else noticed that Commander Farsight is missing from the HQ page on the GW website?

Checked their bitz section and there isn't an upgrade pack and so he's just missing.

Any ideas?

(As other part plastic/metal products in Tau range have switched to Finecast upgrade packs, would have thought they'd do so with Farsight).

You are indeed correct he has gone poof

Might just be a temporary (happens some times) or maybe....Tau soon? But then why pull him and nothing else?

He's been missing for a few months now, I wouldn't say Tau are imminent.

Slight over reaction. As much as i want my tau to get some love i don't think its happening any time soon.

Best guess? Ran out of stock, and there is no point of doing a new/Finecast run of him when Tau will be coming soon.

He was a hybrid metal and plastic kit, one of the few left, I'd guess they don't want to make any more for the moment until a new plastic or finecast kit is released later this year with the rest of the Tau

Just to clarify, I don't actually think Tau are any where near to being released.
I just wanted to jump on the band wagon and I really wanted to use'ahoy'! :D

Well, this sucks, I was starting to make a Farsight Enclave army, and the centerpiece is no longer available. Waiting is going to be painful >_<

Just to clarify, I don't actually think Tau are any where near to being released.
I just wanted to jump on the band wagon and I really wanted to use'ahoy'! :D

Hastings says Tau before High Elves and High Elves are in May (according to Hastings) so that leaves April.:p Hasting is seldom if ever wrong about what codex/army bookis being released when.

When I was in Edinburgh late last year, a staffer told me that Black Library are 'syncing' the release of particular novels with codex releases. The white dwarf issue with the Dark Angels had just been leaked, and he said, unofficially, that the Ravenwing book was released with the DA codex just being around the corner. I'm not certain how far apart the books were. He then noted that Fire Caste is coming in March, which meant it was likely that the next Tau codex would soon follow. Now, he wasn't speaking as an expert, merely using speculation. However, I considered it food for thought.

I can see there being a big release at the end of march, just in time for the Easter school break would make perfect sense.
Tau would be fantastic and if Hastings is saying that's the plan, roll on Easter.

Just been reading on Faeit 212 that both the Tau and Eldar cabinets in warhammer world have models missing.

Farsight was just a battlesuit with a sword and some bling. Just use another crisis suit as his stand-in for now.

I actually just ran into the same issue a couple months ago. I built a nice one out of forgeworlds Shas'o Rmyr. I used the Wailing Doom sword off an old eldar avatar as the sword but Ive seen a few other nice options such as wraithswords, various daemon weapons, WFB has a ton of nice blades, I was even considering trying a Nemisis Greatsword before I settled on the Wailing Doom. TBH most conversions look better than original model.There are a TON of conversions posted if you check google images.

As for Tau getting an update. IDK but it wouldn't be foolish to think that they are going to get released sometime this year or the next.

As for Tau, I hope we see them sooner than later. April would be nice and the whispers around the net suggest this could be true.

It has been rumoured this is the case with Kroot. Not sure about vespid.

Heres something......would it be silly to think that they might add in Auxiliary Special Characters (i.e Kroot and Vespid) who could make the auxiliaries troops.

Kroot are already troops. Why would they need a special character to make them something they already are?
