Behind an ADL with quad gun

Azreal

Command squad, bolters, Banner of devastation, apothecary

Tac Squad, plasma cannon

Contemptor Mortis Pattern Dread with Kheres Assault Cannons and CML

Whirlwind Hyperios

Forward units:

Ravenwing attack Squadron, full unit, plasma gun, melta gun
attack bike, multi-melta

Librarian on bike, mastery 2

Company Vets, drop pod (deathwind launcher, locator beacon) 5 multi-flamers, 5 multi-melta

5 man termie squad with TH/SS and cyclone launcher

general tactics:

Azzie on quad gun
tac squad deplyed to take advantage of banner of devastation

mortis and whirlwind just behind tac and command squad

bikes race forward to harass enemy/ provide option for terminators to DS on target

Company vets Drop pod assault on first turn and obliterate either an infantry unit with flamers or a vehicle with meltas

Termies DW assault on turn two where needed, pinpointing on the bikes or the drop pod

Flyers should be handled by the Quad gun, mortis dread, or whirlwind

if the mission allows for it (ie the objectives are not too spread out) then the ADL would be configured in a denied flank formation. This is ideal for missions like the emperors will or purge the alien.

I still have 54 points.... any thoughts?

You don't have nearly enough Troops. 1 Troops choice in a 2k point tourney just isn't enough. Your opponent will just have to kill your Tactical Squad to deny you the ability to score objectives. Or is your Ravenwing attack squadron a Troops choice? Regardless. 1 or 2 Troops choices won't cut it at 2k.

Otherwise, this list looks like a balanced force and it would probably be fun to play. Definitely not a meta-list, but could perform well.

I count 3 troops the tac squad and Azreal makes Terminators and Ravenwing troops as well.

indeed. so forward I would have two scoring units and a contesting unit. Im thinking about taking an empty rhino to taxi my tac squad to the fore should the need arise

There are 3 scoring units as-is. The RW can combat squad for 4 units. I don't know the rules for the Mortis dread or the Whirlwind hyperios so I can't comment on them.

I think your veteran squad is a pretty steep points investment and they are going to be hanging out there with not a lot of other targets to take the heat off of them. Forunately they have a good punch when they land, so hopefully they will combat squad and kill (or maim) 2 units before being blown off the board. Actually, deploying them like that is a good way to protect your scoring units, but they will probably go bye-bye really fast.
I might try to squeeze 16 points out of the veteran squad (add that to your spare 54 points) to get a 5-man tactical squad to keep in reserve to come in later in the game, or to deploy on the board and start using that Standard of Devastation right away.

Don't leave your DW unprotected/unsupported when they come in. Sure, they are scary, but one turn of shooting will see them off the board for good. Don't put them in a position where they are fully open and clearly the main threat. Make it so that if your opponent shoots at them, then he is neglecting another unit that is about to punch him in the junk.
