Not impressed by the collectors editions. Whilst I like Blanche's artwork, I think the images used against the dark background don't work results in a bland cover. I was hoping for something more exotic, like a velvet-like cover for Slaanesh, corroded faux-leather for Nurgle, etc etc. Still, the standard book looks amazing and I will definitely pre-order that and the psyker cards.

Finaaaly can have a good look at the new kits, it was killing me lol. Those plaugeflies look so much better without the proboscis. I defiantly gotta get those chariots for my Khorne/Tzeentch force... a lot of those bits can spruce up my existing Khorne/Tzeentch heralds too... now the long yet not so long wait for the codex lol.

as I said on the other thread, I love the plastic pieces of fire from the Chariot kit, there looks like several pieces like that - meaning I could make several Tzeentch horrors that actually look good. If they end up on bitz sites, im going to do that.

Personal taste aside, I think they are mostly good kits - the Khorne kit looks a bit more 40kish and better in general compared to the WD scans, and the plague flies look pretty good too. On a technical level, id say they were all pretty good too. I wouldnt buy any of them personally though.

Very nice-looking models, though normally I don't much care for the aesthetics of daemons.

I may wind up with a bit of a Tzeentch collection down the road though, as allies for my CSM and/or traitor Guard.

Looked at all of them, spun them round a few times and I still think the only one I like is the Herald of Khorne. Though the Tzeentch chariot does look a lot better with the fiery bits painted to look like flames rather than seaweed.

Gotta give credit where credit's due - EldarGal called it, these look much better with detail. Plague Drones, especially. Actually planning on using Daemon allies for my long-suffering CSM, so this is vastly pleasing.

I'm actually surprised how much I like some of it actually. The plague drones I think look fantastic and I'm going to buy a Burning Chariot of Tzeentch and I was really on the fence about that one. Painted flamey I think it looks beautiful.

Actually, I've been warming more and more to the Tzeentch models lately, whereas previously only Khorne stuff had tickled my fancy.

This is great, because I'm working on a Thousand Sons and Tzeentch-aligned traitor IG pair of armies, as Tzeentch is my favourite god. Now if I want to get some crazy daemonic buddies for them, there are some that I actually think look pretty fantastic.

Yeah, it's weird for me. I didn't like the images I saw earlier, but with the better images on GW's site I am highly impressed.

Budget wise, I can stretch to both sets of cards, and either Codex or Army book. But which one!!

And in a complete surprise to no one, models are gorgeous! Though Slanneshi Herald looks a tad static. There's always the one from the chariot though.

Sorry to say but for me its Mono Slaanesh all the way. Mostly this codex for me will be a rules update and a few things I never had the rules for (never had the WD so never had the chariot rules). Unless Slaanesh doesnt cut it in one area or another (namely killing tanks, which is why I had one unit of Screamers) then there wont be a model from a single other chaos god in my army (unless the Furies/whatever else they are supposed to be now are good but they dont answer to any single Chaos God).

Ordered the codex and psychic cards, I will probably pick up a Tzeentch chariot a few days after release day if their rules are as good as the White Dwarf makes them out to be. I've got a sneaky feeling that Tzeentch Daemons are going to be top of the pile again; hopefully I am wrong and the codex is a lot more balanced and rewards the other mono-god builds more.

What a fantastic launch this will be. I was assuming there would also be greater Daemon sculpts as well, any idea if that is the case? Being new to the hobby and buying my first box back in October of plague bearers and now looking back at 'old' sculpts, I'm so glad it's a good time to be Chaos. Marines and Daemons.

GD are not coming in March, they may be coming in a later wave(s) but I don't recall seeing any specific rumour of that anywhere.

Images of the books in WD show the same old Bloodthirster and Keeper of Secrets, so new models seem unlikely.

Though of course, that doesn't really hold up as an observation until one is seeing them in the actual book held in one's own hands.

And I'm tempted by Nurgle. Managed to read the sample page for Beasts in 40k. Anyone charging them does so as a disordered charge (no bonus for you, bunghole!). And even better? Attention Seeker. Pick a friendly unit which has been charged within 12". The Beasts unit can attempt a counter charge! And that's fun in anyone's money!

Oh, and by 'sample page' I mean the diddy one printed in White Dwarf. Haven't seen the book of had any other kind of sneaky peaky!

They have tiny images showing the HQs and Army Special Rules/Warlord Table/Warp Storm chart for Chaos Daemons on their ibook page, I tried reading them but there is no way to do it. :(
Ah well.
Anyway, as far as liking rival gods, whilst I know Khorne and Tzeentch aren't rivals, they are going to be my main two forces. It sounds like Khorne got some much needed boosts, and Tzeentch Daemons appear to be more powerful (overall, not just Flamers and Screamers) than before. Mostly though I love the models :D

A couple more tidbits from mine eyes and WD!

Loci of Nurgle include every Poisoned Attack (so to hit roll of 6+) causes an additional S4 hit. Another causes automatic wounds on a 5+ to hit. Third gives Regen. Which is nice I guess.

Heralds of Nyrgle draw spells either from Nurgle, or Death.

Seems standard Daemonic Ld is now 7 as well...
