A quick thought on who to use for a Necron Aegis Defense Line:
1: The Triarch Stalker with the Targeting Relay -
"If a Triarch Stalker shoots at an enemy unit and manages at least one hit, place a counter or coin next to the target. All other friendly units that shoot at the same target later in the same Shooting phase count their weapons as twin-linked." This should allow you to pop any vehicle, flying or not with less focused fire from anywhere on the board, even better against ground-pounding troops. Fun in an Apoc game with Allies.
2: Necron Destroyers - Preferred Enemy "Everything" = reroll To-Hit and To-Wound using 2 normal and 3 Heavy Destroyers to increase firepower across the table.
3: If you really want to abuse fuzzy GW rules - A Monolith can park next to it so that nothing else can get close to assault and the Monolith can fire the weapon. The Portal of Exile will vacuum up charging opponents (only affects enemy models) and you can pull necron units through the door for reinforcements.
