Hi,
Can a model with higher initiative pile in to an assault even if doing so requires it to displace models already in the assault?
My opponent assaulted one of my units through a constricted space. He got a number of his Ork Boyz into contact, but his Warboss was not in contact with any of my models, and was not within 2" of a Boy who was.
So we begin the assault. Everyone else in the melee was Initiative2, so the Warboss went first...he got his 3" Pile In move, which brought him to within 2" of another model in base contact with mine. He then made his attacks.
The only issue here is that the space between the Warboss and my models was completely packed with Ork Boyz, and for the Warboss to reach his position, he had to displace some of the Boyz.
Is this legal? Can a model with higher Initiative displace others? Or does he have to wait till there's room?
Thanks,
Brent

I dont believe you can displace any models (as in remove them to put another person in combat). he would have to wait until enough space for his guy to get in there. I dont have a rb with me here though to double check sorry.

As far as I am aware to move a model there has to be enough room for its base to fit to the location it is trying to move.

You cannot move through models, even your own. Situations like these are precisely why formation matters.

You cannot displace models, the only time you can is when another character replaces one in a subsequent round of challenge.

If the warboss cannot pile in in such a way that he is either B2B or within 2" of a model that is then he cannot assault that round.

you can not displace models that would fall under cheating.

What your opponent should have done is
1) move the closest ork into btb (per rules).
then they are allowed to continue the charge with any other model, so
2) Select the warboss and move him as close as possible.
3) move the rest of the PWMs (Portable Wound Markers).
