Something of a Termie-bomb list without going full Draigowing for an upcoming Tourney im entering.

Grand Master - 200pts
NF Sword, Rad Grenades, 2 Servo Skulls
Librarian - 165pts
NF Sword, 3 Powers (Quicksilver, Might of Titan, Warp Rift)

Paladins x7 - 490
Apothecary, Psycannon, 1 NF Hammer, 4 NF Swords, 2 NF Falchions

Terminators x10 - 450
Psycannon x2, 2 Hammers, 8 Halberds
Terminators x5 - 225
Psycannon, 1 Hammer, 4 Halberds

Dreadnaught - 135
2x Auto Cannons, Psybolt Ammo
Dreadnaught - 135
2x Auto Cannons, Psybolt Ammo

Total = 1800

Seems MIGHTY small to me but then im not used to Terminator lists so trying something new. Dreads and Terminators Start on the board footslogging along to keep the enemy interested. GM and Libby drop in near the servo skulls with the Paladins, mini death-star style, suck up a round of shooting then hopefully go to town with I10 and S6 all round. Im aware that i could save points by going with a Brother Captain and have the same Combat Punch but he's there for Grand Strategy and the chance to have an entire army of scoring units. (Otherwise id probably drop him for 3 more Paladins.)

No Transports and alot on foot i know but i wanted the Footslogging Termies in there on the board so that my opponent doesnt just focus everything hes got on the Dreadnaughts.

And yeah i know i dont have much in the way of Flying defence either. Its the Dreadnaughts or bust im afraid. Hopefully i can just get into combat fast enough :D

Any thoughts?

Ok, since i can never leave anything alone for too long, and the reaslisation that there is very little Anti-Horde in this list i made a Tweak. Again theres alot of on foot going on but good deployment and cover use should see me right.

Ok, heres the tweak...

Grand Master - 210pts
MC-NF Sword, Rad Grenades, Servo Skull x2, Incinerator
Librarian - 170pts
MC-NF Sword, 3 Powers (Quicksilver, Might of Titan, Warp Rift)

Paladins x6 - 445
Apothecary, 2x Psycannon, 2x NF Hammer, 4x NF Swords
Purifiers x10 - 255
Incinerators x4, Halberds x5, Hammer

Terminators x5 - 225
Psycannon, 1 Hammer, 4 Halberds
Terminators x5 - 225
Psycannon, 1 Hammer, 4 Halberds

Dreadnaught - 135
2x Auto Cannons, Psybolt Ammo
Dreadnaught - 135
2x Auto Cannons, Psybolt Ammo

Total = 1800

So total Footslogging army, even the Purifiers. Im actually liking Incinerators all round for them since theyre free. Keeps em cheap and perfect overkill in that anti-horde role i want them in while the rest of the army brings the heavy firepower, OR i can drop the Purifiers down to 6, swap the reamining 2 Incinerators for Psycannons and buy em a Razorback with Heavy Psybolters.

I see any horde army with brains destroying your purifiers before they get close. Even in a Razorback... they can still get popped out of their transport pretty easily. I've had the same problem when I've brought one highly specialized flamer unit. Unfortunately though, I don't know the Grey Knight codex well enough to provide an alternative. If I was you though, I'd probably keep the Librarian, drop the Grand Master, and bring another unit of Terminators. Then I'd think about swapping the Paladins for a tricked out unit of Purifiers and Rhinos for both squads of Purifiers. Because as you say, you don't have much anti-horde. And your flyer defense is a real problem. Do you have a Stormraven or at least an Aegis Defense Line? I wouldn't usually insist on legitimate flyer defense in a friendly 1500 point match, but in a 1800 point tourney you are likely to see 2+ flyers in most games. Maybe think about removing the Grand Master and the Paladins and finding some room for flyer defense and more bodies. Plus, Troops are vital in this edition so I'd also try to fit at least one more Troops selection.

U suppose all I can do is start playtesting and see how it does. Ive seen smaller lists do ok, and some of my friends handle flyers pretty well with just the TL Autocannons on the dreads. Short of an Air Force im not that worried. There are some armies that im not gonna enjoy facing but that happens with any list.

We shall see.

I really like your revised list w/ the purifiers. They cannot be your front line though; they will die immediately. Take them in a rhino. The rest of the termies can footslog or go chill in a building on an objective. The 2 dreds should be good for anti flyer as long as you are smart about keeping them out of enemy fire or just alive in general. My personal trick with purifiers is to load 10 of them into my stormraven (assuming it comes in on turn 2), drop them off at front lines with 4 incinerators on the frontline. Last game I got 40 hits and some dead necrons with that sweet move. The termies will die though (1wound) versus their 2wound paladin counterpart. So be diligent with keeping the paladins in the front/soaking dmg and then mop or steal objectives with terminators (scoring :D). I'm relatively new to the game, so take my advice with 1/2 a grain of salt. Let us know how it works! I'm always looking for new ideas for my army too.
