I second Imperial Fists! Otherwise Salamanders is my vote.

Yeah Imperial Fists would get my vote too (they are the siege masters after all so Ironclad's really fit with them), with the Salamanders a close second cos a chapter that likes to burn everything is just cool.

I so totally agree with him. Seriously, paint what you like.

The only reason to pick something "popular" is if you're planning to make something purely to sell it, and you even then it's a bad question, since you should never make stuff on spec (you should be making stuff for specific customers, etc).

paint what you like, if its for a competition this is especially true, are the judges going to prefer yellow tau or giant green and bone and osl and neon turquoise with a fair bit of freehand tau.

Most popular usually means boring.

Go with a rarely seen chapter, or make up your own.

I would do something like the Excoriators. Imperial Fist Successors, protagonists in the book "Legion of the Damned". Their armor is described as being a dirty Ivory color/Dun color because of all the battle damage. They repair the battle damage but don't repaint it . They notate where the damage was sustained as a mark of honor. I think a Dread done up like that would be massively cool.

Salamanders or Imperial Fists would be great, though I think it boils down to what colours you prefer. Go with your eyes :)

Iron hands could be fluffy, It takes a good painter to make black armour look interesting. Pull it off and it could be awesome.
